"The arrangement doesn't satisfy us 100% because there are some issues that need to be solved before our general assembly in December such as to what extent we can take part in the decision-making process."

"The percentage of our representation has not been clarified, nor has the number of clubs we might have in a united league or allowing us to play international friendlies. But the arrangement will give us international recognition through the CFA and provide massive motivation for our young people."

But this seems to be the issue, "political equality" of the two leagues.

"political equality" of the national team, etc.

Latest news is from a press conference in the occupied areas in which Mr. Sertoglu claims he knew what he was signing and sticks to the basis of the agreement:

NICOSIA, Cyprus — The chief of the breakaway Turkish Cypriot Football Association pushed back Friday against detractors heaping scorn on a provisional deal aimed at unifying the sport on ethnically split Cyprus.

Hasan Sertoglu said that he'll move ahead with finalizing the agreement signed at FIFA headquarters this week in order to end decades of isolation for Turkish Cypriot football. FA member clubs will first have to ratify the agreement before it can be fully implemented.

"We should be enthusiastic about this agreement here in this country where nothing has happened in years," he told a packed news conference.

Sertoglu said he had served notice before heading to Zurich that he would sign the agreement, despite not being pleased with some parts he wants to amend. He said this has earned FIFA's appreciation and promises to help overcome problems.

Is anyone else just totally bewildered by the conflicting reports of whether this chap is happy or not happy...??? .. :?

On the one hand, he's going as far as to tell people to be enthusiastic about the agreement, yet he wants to amend parts... totally confused ... :?

From the latest statement it appears that Mr. Sertoglu is fairly content with the deal and is going to try and push it through, despite the opposition from separatist forces in the occupied areas who see this deal as a precedent for a political settlement in which the breakaway regime is brought back under the legitimacy of the Republic.

In Eroglu and Denktas' eyes they seem to be equating the demand for two football federations with that of two states. This deal firmly puts a bomb under that notion, despite the agreement saying that there is no political dimension.

The TC leadership clearly think there is. Hence, Eroglu complaining that the deal undermines the TCs in political negotiations.

Yes, Eroglu and the rest of the mind and body controllers of "trnc" do think that way.

Do you think Demon... isn't there a lot of the Mentality of the Enclaves in the positions of Eroglu and Donktosh Jnr and others in "trnc" and not just in football matters... ???

Once in the Enclaves (leaving aside the contentious reasons why people moved there in the first place), once people were there, the authority of TMT and nowadays its successor "trnc", was total and insisted on controlling all aspects of life.

Well, with the proviso that it's difficult to comment cos we haven't seen the Agreement.

This Brit is happy to support the Agreement as summarised on the EUFA and FIFA sites.

What say the people that VP calls "GCs"...???
