Israel Draws Up Plans for Next Gaza Invasion

According to the Jerusalem Post, the Israeli military is drawing up new plans for how it will conduct its next invasion of the tiny, besieged Gaza Strip. The new plans seem designed to minimize the number of civilians put in harms way by the invading troops.

The silent expulsion

Citizens of Israel can leave the country for any length of time, and their citizenship and all their rights are theirs in perpetuity. But when it comes to Palestinian residents of East Jerusalem, Israel applies draconian regulations whose covert intent is to bring about the expulsion of as many Palestinians as possible from their home city.

33 Greeks to sue Israeli officials over Gaza flotilla raid

33 Greek citizens who took part in the Gaza-bound flotilla that was stopped by the IDF last month are planning to sue senior Israeli officials, including Defense Minister Ehud Barak, Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi and Navy chief Eliezer Merom, Army Radio reported on Wednesday.

The Greek activists also plan to sue soldiers and police officers who participated in the IDF's interception of the Turkish-flagged ship the Mavi Marmara, which resulted in the deaths of nine activists.

Yesterday israel begs the un not to organise an independent inquiry into the flotilla debacle ,I WONDER WHY, it cant be they have something to hide can it,world opinion has not changed no matter what some forumers would like us to believe, israel got it badly wrong and now will have to give up some of its desires, strangling the life out of palistine for one ,, it will not stop here ,opening up a little on the aid will not appease the rest of the world ,there will be more demonstations and flottila until palistine is free from the aggressor and foreign settlers, what israel is doing in palestine is a war crime, and what is sad its muslim brothers like uae, saudi .iraq afghanistan ,pakistan turn the other cheek , but there again these are all allies of america, what would you expect,

UN chief says Israeli plan for east Jerusalem is illegal

UNITED NATIONS (AFP) – UN chief Ban Ki-moon on Wednesday voiced concern that an Israeli plan to raze 22 Arab homes to make way for an archaeological park in annexed east Jerusalem is "unhelpful" and against international law.

Ban "is deeply concerned about the decision by the Jerusalem Municipality to advance planning for house demolitions and further settlement activity in the area of Silwan in East Jerusalem," the secretary general's spokesman Martin Nesirky said in a statement.

Belgian indictment against Barak, Livni

Activists call for war crimes trial on Operation Cast Lead events.

An indictment was filed in Belgium Wednesday calling for various Israeli officials including Defense Minister Ehud Barak, opposition leader Tzipi Livni, and former prime minister Ehud Olmert be tried for war crimes, reported Hungarian News Agency MTI.

The 70-page indictment was submitted by a group of 14 people, mostly Gazan Palestinians, and relates to events that took place during Operation Cast Lead in January 2009.
