Top Israeli judge slams state for building West Bank road against court order
Israel's Supreme Court president on Wednesday condemned the government's failure to enforce an order to stop building a West Bank road on private Palestinian land.
In talks with state lawyers, Supreme Court President Dorit Beinisch gave the government 45 days to explain why illegal construction was continuing and justify damage to private property.
Firefighting teams succeeded Thursday in putting out a flame that devoured more than 17,000 acres of vegetation in the Golan Heights. The fire was caused by IDF fire drills, and the army has ordered an investigation into the matter.
Fire Department spokesman Yair Elkayam told Ynet, "Unfortunately this was a huge fire that caused a very big natural disaster, for animals as well as plants."
UN aid group: Israel deliberately hampering West Bank, Gaza relief efforts
A United Nations humanitarian relief agency is accusing Israel of deliberately disrupting the international community's aid efforts for the Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
According to a special report released by the UN's Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA ), Israel is not permitting construction of buildings for needy Palestinians and is encumbering on the freedom of movement of aid groups and their staffs.

Israeli forces have attacked a flotilla of aid-carrying ships aiming to break the country's siege on Gaza.
At least 15 people were killed and dozens injured when troops intercepted the convoy of ships dubbed the Freedom Flotilla early on Monday, the Israeli military said.
The flotilla was attacked in international waters, 65km off the Gaza coast.
Turkish Parliament Adopts Declaration Against Israeli Attack
The Turkish parliament adopted on Wednesday a declaration, strongly condemning Israel's attack on Gaza-bound aid flotilla.
In the declaration, the parliament called on the government to review its political, economic and military relations with Israel and take efficient measures.
