Russia has announced that it wants to build the world’s largest childrens entertainment facility, Disneyland to Pile.


According to an article published in the Greek Cypriot Politis newspaper, Russian investors want to build Disneyland in the village of Pile which is in the buffer zone.


In a statement he made concerning the issue, the Greek Cypriot Foreign Minister Harilaos Stavrakis said that if the project is realised the 800 million Euro project will be the biggest of its kind in Cyprus.


If the project is realised it is estimated that 3 thousand jobs will be created and half a million tourists will visit the island.


The paper wrote that as Pile is a bicommunal village, there will be two separate entrances to the entertainment facility and Turkish Cypriots will also take part in the building of the facility.


In the article it is stated that the Russian government supported the building of the facility in the bufferzone so that it would play a supporting role among the two peoples of the island.

and what is this disney land gong to have? a chair and nothing else? how big on a park to they expect to be able to put anywhere in cyprus, any decent size park would need lots of space that tthe north or the south does not have, it will be crap and no one will want to go.

not to mention which are more then 5 times the size then they can put in cyprus.. imo its a waist of time in the south and north we have a mall in ltasia and its crap.. to small not enough space to put anything

Now our cultural progress is guaranteed! Disney land surrounded by "cabarets" and casinos and the inevitable souvla joints. Entertainment for the whole family! Pappy can visit the ladies in the cabaret, mommy can gamble and the baby sitters can take junior to the amusements. Yuk!
