Hello Ros
I don't live in Neo Chorio so I can't give you precise details, but I know it fairly well as the gateway to the Akamas, and as a convenient refreshment stop. You are very lucky because it is in a beautiful location, and the village itself is charming, locals super friendly. The whole area is vibrant. You won't feel isolated as there are enough Brits around, and with Latsi and Polis being so close, you won't be stuck for any requirements. You can even get Scotch Pies
Bring hiking boots; there are many great trekking trails

You may like to get a copy of: "The Back of Beyond" by Sheila Hawkins for an amusing read of their retirement adventures there. It gives you a taste of the background of about 20 years ago, with lots of observations on local characters and traditions.
