Northern Cyprus is officially part of Turkey

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Northern Cyprus is officially part of Turkey

The Daily Mirror says so!!!!

TURKEY

How much?

Guaranteed sunshine from April to October, good beaches, friendly locals. And once you’re there it’s as cheap as it gets. Watch out for rip-off prices at the airports, though. Currency: Turkish Lira – 2.09TL to the £.

FOR COUPLES

Head for quieter Turkish North Cyprus. Beautiful scenery, romantic hotels, dining out under the stars at pretty Kyrenia Harbour and the best beaches on this divided island. The ancient walled town of Famagusta (Gazi Magusa) was the fabled setting for Shakespeare’s Othello. Check out how to get there on the official website www.northcyprus.org or book a package with specialist www.anatoliansky.co.uk which can also arrange twin-centre holidays with the Turkish capital, Istanbul.

These count as adverts.

They are too stupid a "newspaper" to understand perpetuating such a mistake, being more the types to encourage idiots to buy there too!

I have been working in Famagusta for the past two days and can categorically state that, with Varosha fenced off and no access to the sea front apart from the port, this place has been turned into the most hideous dump. It breaks my heart.

The last time I visited was May 1974, and it was fantastic.

My first visit was Christmas 1970 and I stayed in the Florida Hotel which was a family run place. That was great as well.

I went to a hotel/restaurant near the beach in Varosha. We had to speak English so we were not identified as being Turkish Cypriot.

Still, its a pity that Varosha has turned into a ghost town.

My company's recommendation. They had been there before and were not served by the Greek speaking staff, because they were speaking Turkish. they walked out after a fruitless wait.
