Luciess,

Cyprus cannot safely absorb anymore foreigners and here’s the evidence…

An ever increasing number of foreigners every year are getting trapped here in a vicious circle of poverty that sometimes even leads to death! Last year alone, at least 4 foreigners were found dead in abandoned houses who had either died from the cold, hunger, neglect, or all of the above.

Some, otherwise law abiding people, are so desperate that they resort to a life of crime and end up getting locked up for years. Please tell all your friends that trying to make it in a foreign country alone, let alone illegally, can be VERY dangerous, even fatal.

Even if you’re offered a job, there is no guarantee that you’ll keep it for any period of time and any saved up money you may have will very quickly run out.

Without well-established and reliable friends and relatives to pick you up should you fall, a foreign country can even be fatal.

Very sensible words GR. How do the locals get by? I know the above is true but I really don't know how you guys survive?

It's a closely knit community with strong family support at its very foundation. At the very least, most young locals have their parents to pick them up when they fall but nobody cares about the foreigner.

Why don't you care about the foreigner?

I think one day this will change. The UK is full of foreigners and we look after them more than our own people...in a way I kind of know where you are coming from but we have been brought up with foreigners

The UK has evolved over the decades to accommodate a constant influx of foreigners, but in Cyprus it’s something new and we just haven’t got the right establishments in place yet for that.
