EU doing a Makarios

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

EU doing a Makarios

Postby zan » Fri Jan 09, 2009 7:31 pm

Is it time for the EU big boys to change the "Constitution" so that countries like the "RoC" do not have a unfair advantage over countries like Germany with 100 million people??? Should the EU big boys ignore the smaller vetos and take control. By force if need be and those countries that want to leave the union should be shown the door!!!?

The EU "Constitution" unlike the Cypriot one, was not FORCED on anyone. In fact countries are clambering to join

We can say that it was forced...The larger countries taking the bigger share of the times and the smaller ones having no choice....

I think you should to move this to the EU politics section of the Forum.

But regardless: No one has forced the EU "Constitution" on any member countries. They chose to join.

Now which country is clambering, desperately to join?

The EU was not created so that larger nations would have an influence over smaller ones. It is after all a union of European nations .

Turkey will one day become a full member , she will not however be tolerated for as long as the EU and the International community view her presence in Cyprus as an occupying power.

Wasn't the Zurich agreement formed along the same lines....Two people that should not have influence over the other.....

Why is the "RoC" tolerated in a system that believes in equality?

EU is a union of countries, not a country.

But if Germany and the other big countries want to do whatever they want in EU, no problem, we will just take our island and leave from the EU.

Similarly, if you do not like democracy in Cyprus you can just go back from where you came from. You were never invited in Cyprus to begin with (while we have been invited to join the EU).

turkey refferes to the 1960 agreements when it suits them but where did the agreement say about two states in cyprus? such a small island to be split in two? like roc should reffere to the one where turkey gave up all its rights to cyprus.

its the turks that dont believe n equality and want the rest of the eu to be like them anytime the south makes a request tot he turks they say you must give somerthing back bt when they make a request they say oh no we shouldent have to give anything back for this request. all take take take with the turks.

how many times do the turks kill their own for saying things that "offend" them you cant even speak your mind without being killed... and you say ROc does not believe in equality and freedom of speech. how many websites banned because they offend the turks. i wont be suprised if they ban this one next from turkey...

"Many Greeks, and several EU governments, want the internationally recognised Greek-controlled bit of the island brought into the Union, whatever the Turks and others may think. Otherwise, says the government in Athens, it will block the entry into the EU club of ten other countries, an incomparably more important event. If Greece has its way, Turkey, a valued but prickly NATO country, says it may annex Turkish Cyprus outright, imperilling the entire region."

Suit-able democrasy all around the world... :(

it doesent zan but we have no say in that because the turks hold the north by force with 40 thousand troops there is nothing we can do, all turkey has to do is remove the troops and agree that we all have same rights but they will not allow that they will do everything in their power for two states so its turkey that is to blame

well at least the roc goverment wouldent ban the website if i do slag them off ;)

i bet if i upload a few pics or videos and slag off gaturk attaturk it wont take long for turkey to ban the site
