What you say there (as a female) can't be true, if it was, what are you doing in this thread?

This thread is not about marriage, Romeo. Have a read! It's an open debate on matters (love, sex-appeal, intelligence) which are significant to anyone, be they single people, widowed, divorced, celibate etc.

Admit you lack the depth necessary for well-rounded discussions.

"anyone" includes married people as well dear and if you yourself did not lack the depth necessary for well-rounded discussions, you would realise that all three things Insan is talking about, as a married man, is present in a marriage and not just the ones you listed above.

Maybe you are jelous that some of us are still happily married because we still possess all the ingredients that constitutes a happy marriage?

You do like to argue about anything and everything, don't you? Could that be because you suffer from an inferiority complex?

No dear, the debate is not over just because some of us possess the ingredients to keep our marriges a happy one.

Some of us do have "attraction" and others "lethal attraction".

Oracle, the only thing hasn't been taught u is to try thinking positive abt non-Hellenes which is something called empathy. :D Anyway I'm dedicationg the below poems only for u. ;p

Body Remember
Body, remember not only how much you were loved
not only the beds you lay on.
but also those desires glowing openly
in eyes that looked at you,
trembling for you in voices-
only some chance obstacle frustrated them.
Now that it's all finally in the past,
it seems almost as if you gave yourself
to those desires too-how they glowed,
remember, in eyes that looked at you,
remember, body, how they trembled for you in those voices.

He Came to Read
He came to read. Two or three books
are open; historians and poets.
But he only read for ten minutes,
and gave them up. He is dozing
on the sofa. He is fully devoted to books
but he is twenty-three years old, and he's very handsome;
and this afternoon love passed
through his ideal flesh, his lips.
Through his flesh which is full of beauty
the heat of love passed;
without any silly shame for the form of the enjoyment.....

So Much I Gazed
So much I gazed on beauty,
that my vision is replete with it.

Contours of the body. Red lips. Voluptuous limbs.
Hair as if taken from greek statues;
always beautiful, even when uncombed,
and it falls, slightly, over white foreheads.
Faces of love, as my poetry
wanted them.... in the nights of my youth,
in my nights, secretly, met....

Desires

Like beautiful bodies of the dead who had not grown old
and they shut them, with tears, in a magnificent mausoleum,
with roses at the head and jasmine at the feet
this is what desires resemble that have passed
without fulfillment; with none of them having achieved
a night of sensual delight, or a bright morning.

Sensual Pleasures
My life's joy and incense: recollection of those hours
when I found and captured pleasure as I wanted it.
My life's joy and incense: that I refused
all indulgence in routine love affairs.

Are these poems familiar to u, Oracle?

.and I thought you ended the 'debate' prematurely. I was getting all warmed up to see which would prevail. Love over lust or vice versa.

Attraction is different than sex appeal imo. For a normal relationship, some may look for attraction which can be anything he/she likes . Sex appeal is something different that is directly related with sexual feelings...

The reason why I didn't mention that is because I never had the displeasure to have experienced it.

The reason why you mentioned it as the first person is, I trust, that you have plenty of personal experience in "repulsion" , especially when you start to speak.

Did I say "speak"?

What's the proper fitting word for a person such as yourself who argues about anything and everything and thinks that she is always right even when she knows she is wrong?
