He can if he wants to Tim but I doubt that even Talat is that stupid to go down in history as the one who surrendered to a communist regime.

The thing that you have to realsie is that it's not just in Turkey's interest to want a two state solution, it's in our TCs interests as well. So anyone who even thinks about surrendering and dissolving the TRNC will be ousted by us even before Turkey gets the chance to ditch him/her.

Well, I am a Briton living in the south of Cyprus, and you are a Turk living in my country. Maybe it is best to let the TCs living in Cyprus decide for themselves what is in their best interests.

Briton? Ok, is that English, Welsh, Scottish, Irish, Turkish, Greek, Indian, Pakistani, Chinese..etc?

It really doesn't matter and I don't give a damn but to me it looks like when you left the UK you abandoned completely and washed you hands of it, is that what you are suggesting that we do as well Tim?

If that is what you are suggesting, which I believe it is, let me tell you that not everyone thinks like you do about their own countries.

PS: BTW, I am a Turkish Cypriot but for the likes of you, it doesn't matter anyway.

Everybody has the right to define their identity as they wish. Judging from your avatar, I thought that you chose to identify yourself as a Turk. Glad to hear that you are a Turkish Cypriot now.

Elections! What a scam! :

Most of the "settlers" you refer to are voteless workers (and many of those Kurds). Turkish Cypriots are still the majority of the voting citizens and it is they who have their say. In fact, the Turkish residents who have been given citizenship have normally voted against the nationalistic parties.

It is true samarkeolog ......

to find out is very easy, soon voter list will hung on the walls .... on those list it is very easy to find out who are going to vote .with names and id.numbers.

also from the Cities or villages elections results it can be traced very easily .after every elections results are publishing from daily news papers . which party or which persons has got how many votes from every places .

some how some people are believes what they have been told by other parties .usually these information's are given out some small groups .they tries to cover their unsuccess in elections .

This is all fine,Halil...But how will we know who of these voters are real TCs and who are settlers???? You will admit it is impossible now that they have forced all TCs to adopt Turkish style surnames..... :(

Obviously this is exactly why the 'surname law' that was brought on after 1974 - remove the traces for a perfect blend. But for the last few years I believe acquiring TRNC citizenship for a settler was made difficult - well, at least that's what they told to the press.

No-one can be sure about what the 'new' political organizations (which seem to be 'planted' by political bodies from Turkey) are going to cost the community by now. I'd expect 'newly settled' non-TCs on the top 3 of each list for some parties...

Are you saying that people who have been living in the TRNC for over 30 years and are fully fledged citisens should not be allowed to vote???? All that meet the criteria in the "RoC" do........

The avatar I chose is the closest to the TRNC flag and also is in the Cyprus constitution that I can use it as can the GCs use the Greek flag.

I'm sure you know all this Tim but am unclear in why you choose to ignore it when it's us TCs?

Also, you say that "Everybody has the right to define their identity as they wish", if that were the case then why are we TCs not allowed, by forum rules, to define our own identity and use the TRNC flag as our avatar?
