I am not saying that,Zan...I believe that it(Enosis) was a legitimate wish for a people or community who was never allowed to rule themselves over centuries...But given our history it was our legitimate action to oppose such a move...But the way we went about it and the means we used is what I am criticising...The TMT killed more TCs than the EOKA during the 50s...We can't turn a blind eye to this...

Thats Ok then but we did all we could do is what I believe...Denktas made a lot of mistakes that is for sure and he has admitted to a few of them...One of them is thinking that he can cripple Cyprus by leaving government.....When he tried to reverse that he was stopped by the GCs which makes me believe that that is what the wanted all along. We played into their hands. This takes nothing away from the intent of the GCs though.....The fact that the had two faces in that they showed the world that hey wanted independence and inwardly went for ENOSIS.

We can blame Denktas for making mistakes but we can thank him for seeing what was coming and trundling his way through to stop it. Add to that a few hundred years of Greek/Turkish conflict and the rest had to happen.
