Miltiades is a compassionate, honourable family man,and a truly evolved Cypriot...He is man enough to admit that as a boy he was supporting EOKA and the struggle to achieve Enosis....And he is man enough to realise and admit what that struggle has cost Cyprus and is still costing Cyprus...He never has a bad word for anyone who consider themselves Cypriot above all...He is one of the few GCs in this forum who has real empathy for the pain and suffering of the TCs during the 64-74 period....
What else do you want??? His blood???

Ah, but is he man enough to not need the help of someone else to stick up for him though?

I don't care how friendly you are with him Birkibrisli but, the same as I told Babaniot, I will not let you dictate to me what and when I can post. The man is childish enough to think he has the right to demand his rights but refuses to give anyone else their rights. His behaviour, personal attacks and calling TC and GCs "foreigners" who don't support what he demands is childish and stupid.

Was it not his childish personal attacks that got him banned from the forum last time? He hasn't learned anything because he is incapable of learning.

Miltiades is the last man on this forum who needs someone to stick up for him...He is a formidable defender of what he thinks is right...And he gives at least as good as he gets in any slanging match...

I rarely ever come to his defence, but he is always there supporting me when the heat is on...So I am returning the favour...I don't want him to think I don't care about what happenes to him...He is trying to make a point when he calls someone a foreigner...And by your reaction ,he is making his point very effectively...

Right, ok, nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more, say no more.

And what may I ask is so funny???
It is a True Cypriot thing to support each other...
Foreigners just do not get it...

It's getting funnier all the time.

Im so happy that you as well as your mate Erico are having a good time.

In the meantime may I just remind you of just some of the things that you posted that made me laugh till I cried. Here is the first...clanger.

"""We can penetrate deep into Southern Turkey " A bit like Hamas in Israel
" We can use if need be suicide bombers ( in Cyprus ) "

"We can enlist the help of mercenaries against the Turkish army "
  : :

And the latest : " I wish someone would wipe Israel of the face of the earth "

Quoting on the holocaust : They -the Israelis- have the AUDACITY to complain ... about the holocaust.
GR , you are marvelously.. hilariously funny I take my.... shoes off to you or throw them at you !!!

insan wrote:U talk like as if only Grivas was the ultimate decision maker of extreme right wing of that era. Same goes with Makarios... Have u ever asked urself who were the planers/ploters giving orders to Grivas? Has Grivas ever tried not to obbey his masters? What abt Makarios? How many bishops from Greece and Cyprus gave him ideas or psychologically forced him abt what to do?

They were the men at the top. Clearly you agree that they must have had advice, so they couldn't be accused of being corrupted by the amount of power they wielded. A good thing, right?

But Makarios must have been the main man who accepted the 1960 Constitution as it was. Perhaps against (better?) advice from Grivas and others to continue the struggle for full self-determination and Democracy.

Whoever they were doesn't matter, what matters is that their cause was based on "Megali Idea" and it's extension "Enosis".

Why would Cyprus, wishing for reinstatement into the Hellenic circle, as a country, have been a Megali Idea? Cyprus did not belong to anyone but Cypriots, and it should have been theirs to do with as they wished.

The Megali Idea was Turkey taking over, extending her "borders"!

Although Cyprus has never been ruled by Greeks;

The majority in Cyprus were always Greek, within recorded history, and hence self-ruled; unless they had been invaded and ruled by others, intermittently.

Well.. even though i don't like political extremists(btw i like extremism in arts and intellectual movements) the cause of Hellens(Greeks and GCs) sounds fair to my mind.

Nice :D

However, another matter of a fact is that there had been abt a 300 years of Ottoman rule on Cyprus and Ottomans conquered Cyprus from Venetians but not from Hellenes. As 3,000 years of Hellenic tradition that the present-day Greek Cypriots refer when arguing either for enosis or for their own dominance in an independent state; 300 years of Ottoman rule and tradition that present day Turkish Cypriots refer when arguing either for equal political rights(as a community) or a seperate TC state.

Does it matter who they conquered Cyprus from? Have the Turks ever recognised the Venetians, latterly, for carrying out negotiations with? Is that the problem? Turkey wants the Venetians to have a say instead of GCs?

There r many aspects of Cyprus problem needs to be solved accordingly to the 2 main view points above mentioned. However, let alone all other aspects of Cyprus problem on 1 side; I don't think vast majority of Hellenic political groups and their supporters will ever accept the political equality on community basis. In my humble opinion, this is the core of the Cyprus problem.

Cheers ;d

But you have not convinced me the minority community are politically equal. How could they be? Just by demanding?

(Although I stand by their rights as individuals.)

Past experience and current GC mindset propels TCs demands.

Its not the GC mindset that the Cyprus issue is all about VP. Its the anti-GC campaign that your still pushing to make your demands heard that makes me think how air-headed your corner really is.

You are unable to think otherwise try thinking out of the mental box you have been forced into.

Only a criminal mind would assume that the holocaust gives Israelis an open ticket against Arabs/Muslims! I’d like to see them try their bravado against the Germans…
