The Israelis say…
“There are no God’s people but us!”
Now if you were God, which of the two would piss you off the most?
Well put like that and if I were God, I suspect I'd be justified in smiting them both.
Why?
The Palestinians have simply given God a name and are praising him, whereas the Israelis are preoccupied promoting
themselves above and beyond everyone else!
Isn't there a large element of self-promotion or "Chosen" on the extreme wings of both sides? Absolutely, many on one side see themselves as the biblical Chosen People Of The Promised Land whilst the other side's extremists are equally certain that they have chosen to follow Another Equally Obnoxious Path To Another Kind Of Promised Land (No offense to the large majorities of both sides who just want to get on with their lives).
To my mind we should see all extreme fanatics as "xerojephali" (xerocephalic?).
Oh and may I just add to that , that both GR's statements contain statements of certainty and I am always suspicious of certain people.., er.. that's to say people who are certain.
