That does not mean that we have not got any access to nuclear ballistic missiles. You should ask our ANZUS partners as well as NATO.

That is not what I meant. I am positive that the US would not want Turkey to have a nuclear capability or to have access.

You were probably not even born when Australia started testing nuclear bombs.

Turkey has nuclear grade uranium in her own soil. She has the know how and technology to build them, so what are you on about paphiti? Having nuclear weapons doesn't make you a Regional Power! What makes Turkey important is her strategic location and alliance with the West. In a region which is basically the energy hub of the world.

He started talking about GDP and people starving and now NUclear power...I am sure that he has no idea where he is going with this....

The report shows for the first time how many U.S. nuclear bombs are earmarked for delivery by non-nuclear NATO countries. In times of war, under certain circumstances, up to 180 of the 480 nuclear bombs would be handed over to Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Turkey for delivery by their national air forces. No other nuclear power or military alliance has nuclear weapons earmarked for delivery by non-nuclear countries.

Also, Australia did not test the bombs. The bombs were tested in Australia (Woomera?) by the British.

The nuclear weapons were also tested by The Australian Defence Forces. The Australian Army and RAAF were all involved. Many of our ex service personell have had a higher than usual susceptibility to cancer.

That arrangement you talk about does not include Australia, because we are able to take delivery of more than 100 or so nuclear devices at a moments notice, even without congressional approval, and despite Australia being a signatory to the nuclear non proliferation treaty.

Some countries don't need agreements and Australia is one of those countries and Israel is another...

I've given you references all the way through, Now how about you giving me some?

Zanny boy,

I was talking about Turkey and her regional power credentials an analysing Turkey's very high proportion of people living below the poverty line. :)

Paphiti is playing the "My knob is bigger than yours", game. Having nuclear capability would have it's disadvantages. It could all come down to, "I'll nuke him before he nukes me". Life on Earth would probably be over if everyone had nukes. The only country Australia is really scared about is China, hence the reason why they kiss American arse so much.

..... which, as I have shown earlier on, is a little lower than UK and USA, probably about the same as RoC if we had up to date information, and is probably overstated in Turkey's case since, as Tim Drayton has pointed out, much of Turkey's actual economy never finds its way into official statistics

It is you guys that changed the subject.

I was quite happy talking about the 13,731,526 starving Turks and Turkey's regional power status.. I wonder what Israel has to say about that..
