Democracy only when it suits..

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

the vast majority on this island by ethnicity are hellenes, so too the relics of the culture's past...so what?

...but what do i know, i come from a "mixed" village.

What I find offensive is the constant drivel that comes out of the mouths of this Hellenic people that I should forget who I am and become a so called Cypriot......You append the vast majority with Hellenism but get offended with my background. The fact that you should even ask me to accept this basic and childish offer of Cypriotism and not try to protect my background and be represented in ALL aspects of political and cultural "Cypriot" life is the beyond comprehension.

You cannot have it both ways RW......You are either Cypriot, which means that you are not Hellenic but a different breed all together (With sensible acceptance of blood mixing) or you are not. That fact can then be said to have split along the way to two distinct people who are legally inhabitants of the island and must be represented. The majority has no right to impose their power over the other just because of numbers. We have no interest in that or to have you look at us as some sort of animal that needs to be saved from extinction. If I were you I would look at what the "RoC" is doing to eliminate all traces of Turkish involvement on the island and hang my head in shame. Then that would take a true humanist of which I have not seen a single one on this Forum....

zan, i understand the pain you suffer, and i think you may understand that my suffering comes from the same root. i too find the "Greeks" on this forum are nothing more than bigots and that they are no different to the bigots on the other side of a divide that "they" created.

However, if we as island dwellers wish to identify ourselves as Persons this is entirely acceptable providing though that "we" as Individuals stand up in unity and as Humans.

Don't ask "me" to look at the RoC and compare it to something which does not exist as of yet. however my view is clear...just reread my manifesto.

you want an exclusivity you cannot have, i ask for a bicommunality/bizonality which demands we take our responsibility to the rest of Mankind (and its future) seriously.

...so don't call me a "Greek" because you want to be "Turkish" and please let us call each other "Cypriots", first.

Just compare the "RoC" to common sense RW....That is all we have.

I call myself a Cypriot in only one sense and for only one period....1960 to 1963........That was the life span of the Cypriot. Since then we have been driven further and further apart. We cannot now expect to mix over night and be able to cope with the difficulties of the past and the future. It simply is not possible. We need clear lines in which we can communicate and go about our daily lives. We need consistency in life before we can trust again. Byzonal should have clear lines in which each can administer itself. I am totally against enclaves...Totally...

Of course this brings about suspicions of a break away state but how much less can we trust each other anyway???
