HAPPY 7 YEARS OLD EURO BIRTHDAY

Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

Bill,

The dependence on the UK is a cultural trait we allowed to grow since colonial days. If we taught a few other languages in our schools other than English then we would develope business men and women who could sell to other markets.

The Euro's strength does not bode well for CY's tourism and construction sectors for 2009. The plonkers in CY government should have paid a lot more attention to expanding in to Euroland markets but still have an over-reliance on the GB market. Who will holiday or buy property in CY with sterling/euro at parity?

I understand the British antipathy towards the Euro just as much I understand the British love with Coronation crap , Eastenders Rubbish and such brain dead soap operas . Loss of sovereignty they say !!!
I throw my arms up in the air and I explode with , " what f..ng sovereignty ""

I have lived here in the UK for 47 years , married to an English woman for almost just as long and yet I still fail to understand their reluctance to adopt something that is phenomenally successful , beneficial to the UK enormously because we are going to lose our sovereignty !!!!
I bet if a poll was carried out amongst the Brits living in Cyprus on their British pension they would overwhelmingly reject the notion that we should have joined years ago. Such I'm afraid is the British bulldog stubbornness.
As far as sovereignty is concerned I wonder which one !!

Contrary to such "experts as Margaret Thatcher , as well as ex Chancellors , Lord Healey and Lord Lamont along with Lord Shore an ex Trade minister under Labour who vehemently opposed the Euro and all believed that it would fail , the Euro has been a phenomenal success overtaking the $ as the reserve currency in an increasing number of markets.
Happy birthday EURO !!

To complete my kitchen equipment I am after a Kenwood Chef Major KM023 Kitchen Machine Mega Pack (Titanium) which in Cyprus is about 800 Euros, in the UK it is as low as GBP415, so I could fly over, buy one and still be better off!

Ready and waiting for your order mate , my palms are itching !!!!

So how much from you with shipping?

You can chuck in a good quality big kitchen knife and a steel as a present for a fellow forumer!

If Miltiades is Importing, and having to pay more due to Sterling's poor performance, then exporting to you, after adding his profits  .... Why would it not be cheaper for you, CBBBBBBB, to cut out the middle man (Miltiades), and buy with your good Euros straight from source, Italy or such like! :D

Because the price in Euros remains the same, but stock imported into the UK before the current Euro parity with Sterling came about will be cheaper.

If converted at 1.25, for example, it will be 20% cheaper!
