No, but I'm going to go to my original dentist near our old house tomorrow. Hopefully he'll take me more seriously.

TC - been there, not very nice I know. Whilst you're waiting for treatment go down to a pharmacy and get hold of some "Oil of Cloves" and dab the affected area with it. Very effective for short term pain relief.

Bill!!! I've used so much clove oil that my gums will soon to start to disintegrate.

I'm surviving off co-codamol at the moment...If/when the infection goes it won't be so bad, but it doesn't look like it's going to be anytime soon. :(

Go easy with this co-codamol mate. Seems to have some nasty side effects.

Levent, if you cut a very thin slice of lemon (not the peel) and insert it at the side of the tooth that hurts and wall of your mouth it’ll go all numb in about 10-15 minutes.

This might be worth a try.....

If you feel pain on the right side of your mouth, gently rub your right earlobe or your right hand (in between your forefinger and thumb). Similarly, if your toothache is on the left side of your mouth, massage your left earlobe or left hand. This is a surprising tip but it works!

If the pain persists Talisker's advice is (not surprisingly) to have a few whiskies. Good luck.........
