questions for immigration

Postby stauthor » Tue Dec 30, 2008 1:53 pm

hello, I would like to immigrate in cyprus
I am from non-euro country

I would like to immigrate as category f (Persons who possess and have fully and freely at their disposal a secured annual income, high enough to give them a decent living in Cyprus, without having to engage in any business, trade or profession)

so, I have some question.

first, after getting Residence Permit, I would like to enter university... but If the application is finally approved an alien will not be allowed to engage in any form of business profession or occupation, whether paid or unpaid .. it means I can`t be student?

second, if I get permit, and go to university. can i study as the same studying fee with citizen in cyprus?

third, how much money does I have to have in my account. just CY£3,800 or more?

fourth, can I apply residence permit not in cyprus?

fifth, after five years, I would like to get permanent residence permit. after getting permanent permit, can I work in cyprus?

sixth, finally, I would like to get citizenship, needed to live in cyprus at least 7years, temporary residence permit time, five years, also can be inculded?

I asked cyprus migration office by e-mail, but did`t get reply......

happy new year all~

Being a student is not a job. So you can ;)

Private universities and colleges have the same fee for everyone. But Cypriot citizens get some financial support from government and you will not get that.

I don't know about your other questions. What I can tell you is that getting a work permit is hard and getting a citizenship is very very hard. Forget about immigration office answering any email. You will have to call them like 50 times just for them to pick up the phone. If you have money and you want to come to Cyprus to live then hire a lawyer and he will advice you and arrange the papers for you. If you want to come as student with student visa then apply for a college and if you are accepted then they will tell you what you have to do.

He hasn't got much money as he is asking about working while he is a student.

Then he does not qualify for: "category f (Persons who possess and have fully and freely at their disposal a secured annual income, high enough to give them a decent living in Cyprus, without having to engage in any business, trade or profession)"
