The Gaza Strip, which has an area of 360sq kms, and is home to some 1.5 million displaced Palestinians. The population density is around 11,000 per sq km! At the same time, the Gazans are cut off from the rest of the world, unable to trade, and have been severely hampered from importing important supplies, including medicine. The GDP of the Gaza Strip is $600.00 per capita, which is ranked 167th in the world. It is literally one of the most impoverished areas of world.
The Israelis have taken away all their dignity, so no one should be surprised that the Gazans have become radicalised.
The below maps illustrate this systematic plunder of Palestinian land and inheritance over the last 6 decades.
The Sovereign Base Areas in Cyprus have an area of 250 sq kms, so imagine the squalor when you cram over 1 million people into such a small area.
For the last 5 days, we have witnessed Israeli aggression against a desperate and impoverished people. Women and children have been murdered in cold blood, and images such as these have been prolific on our television sets.
The casualty list is as follows:
1) over 416 civilians killed
2) some 2070 Gazans wounded, some critical
Women and children comprise 25% of those killed and 40% of those wounded.

So far, it has been confirmed that only 1 HAMAS militant has been killed.

I agree that the Palestinian people deserve and must have their own independent and recognised nation , Hamas is however the stumbling block .
The Palestinian authority in West Bank have been ousted from Gaza by Hamas , and further more the Palestinian President Mr. Abbas has condemned Hamas and begged them , prior to the Israeli attacks, not to call an end to the ceasefire.
Hams is responsible for the current carnage , Israel will not remain dormant in the face of continued rocket attacks.
May I also suggest that you check your figures on casualties. From the total killed so far civilians amount to about 25% not as you state 100% .
Civilian Casualties are a disgrace to the human race and should never have been put into a situation where their lives are at risk. You seem to want to convey the message that Israel has embarked on the killing spree of civilians as a matter of course , the fact is it has not. It wants to force Hamas to abandon the daily rocket attacks , not an unreasonable wish . Hamas has stated that they will carry on until Israel is pushed into the sea !!
You keep telling us Hamas are the problem, but they won the last Palestinian election, therefore represent the majority view of the Palestinian population. By your reasoning the Palestinians are the problem!
