`You will not rob the houses of Greek Cypriots! You will not burn their fields!` he was saying… One night, he was trapped in the cinema of the village and shot, getting wounded and he died on the way to the Limassol hospital… According to the villagers, he’s still buried in the yard of the hospital… So the crazy commander had come to replace him and brew trouble in the area…
To my knowledge the shooting story about the Turkish commander shot in the cinema is a fabricated version.
The truth is that he was a Casanova an had been shagging women from the village...
He was shot in the cinema one night by one of the villagers who found out the commander was having an affair with his wife..
The story was covered up by the villagers because they all believed he was guilty...
The guy who shot him immigrated to UK after the incident.

He threatened the elderly or anyone who opposed him and saw himself as a demi god. Some TC's blame him for this incident. I spoke to my father about this and he mentioned that rumours circled that he is still alive and living in Kyrenia.

Unfortunately, the 2 "motherlands" were the ones who had hidden agendas back then, ofcourse acting as puppets of their NATO masters. The tragedy is that they have found partners in crime among the Cypriots, be it in the form of EOKA B and TMT who were prepared to kill their own mothers in order to blame the other side.
Fortunately, GC have seen the light and have managed to drift apart from the control of athens (maybe because they were the ones who paid the bigger price). I hope that TCs will follow this example soon and manage to do the same with Turkey.
Will we still be allowed to bury our dead in a Turkish flag...Maybe just the dignitaries eh!!!
