Queen & Royals Subsidised by EU ....

Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

I have been brought up and raised to adore her, and I don't like hearing folk like you making comments like that! As long as the British people, the Empire, and the Dominions support the monarchy, then she is the head of state. Period!

Don't forget she is also the Queen of Cyprus as it is a Commonwealth country.

Why should the EU - a modern establishment - supply her with an inordinate amount of money, simply because she was in the already over-privileged position of amassing an unwarranted amount of land, by unfair means (no wealth distribution Tax to her fore-fathers, unlike commoners).

She should stand for election like the President of any other democracy. The underling "royals" ( like Charlie the Windsor stud) might behave a little better if they ran the risk of losing their privileges.

And do you think anyone would vote for her??? I think not. Only naive people like utu, who doesn't even live in the UK.

She should take Phil the Greek and all the rest of her enlarged family and retire, preferably somewhere where the UK taxpayer doesn't have to keep her.

 Sorry for the outburst I dont normally swear

It is maddening though, when so many peasant farmers, whom the EU was set up to protect, have had to give up the agricultural struggle, and find alternative sources of income, whilst these over-wealthy parasites throw hunting/shooting parties on their land, then reap huge rewards for doing nothing else!

Absolutely agree, they should look into assetts and income before dishing out money!!

Well, I can tell you that one Dominion is almost ready to toss the crown down the toilet. We are just waiting for her to croak!

There is no way we can accept Charles as King. What a disgrace!

No she is not the Queen of Cyprus! She is not even Head of State as Cyprus is an Independent Republic, within the Commonwealth but not the Realm.

The Queen is Head of the Commonwealth, an Institute created as an interim to face-saving-dissolution of one of the most scandalous (but interesting) Empires.

 There I was admiring my well deserved and dare I say modestly accepted CBE while taking afternoon tea and Mr Kiplings finest custard tarts when on reading this post I almost choked upon my refreshment

The very thought of of a presidential Britain should be enough to strike fear into the hearts of all mankind. A potential President Thatcher, Boris Johnson, Tony or even heaven forbid Cherrie Blair equiped with unbridled presidential power and their very own hotline to God would lead to us getting into even greater F*** Ups than we are already involved in now

HMQ, Phil the Greek, Charlie the tentative Orthodox Tree Man and the rest might be a trifle strange as well as expensive but compared to the limitless possibilities of our politicians they might just be cheap at twice the price.

Possibly for England as opposed to Britain a reincarnation of The Lord Protector Oliver Cromwell could be the answer. Then again the thought of Olivers Army equiped with todays modern weapons again running amok in Ireland or some other poor sods island should give cause for thought to all, unless of course anyone on this forum is an arms dealer

Now where did I put the Radio Times and my Pomp and Circumstance CD. Oh! Bollocks, now I missed the Archers, damn this bloody forum

When dealing with the 'Royals', look no further than the behaviour of the entire family and ask yourself a simple question.

"Would I have the cheek to show my face outside the door if my OWN family was as disreputable as they ?".

The Queen must have a skin thicker than a 'Rhinoceros', not only to set foot out of doors, but to actually parade her 'Brood' in public and actually attempt to convince us of the virtue of them.

Not HER fault of course, it's the silly bastards who are even prepared to stand in the pissing rain for hours in the hope of catching a glimpse of her.

One spectator remarked that he greeted Prince Phillip with a cheery "Good Morning your Highness" as he passed by in his carriage, he was unable to hear exactly what was said in reply as the carriage was travelling at a pace, however, he did manage to catch sound of the suffix "Ocks" as it trundled by, one wonders what the prefix was.

Happy New Year to ALL.
