I couldn't decide if this should be in the Sports section or the Cyprus Problem. I think this is a very positive move if all goes well and hope it does. I just can't help wondering though if 2 GC teams can't seem to get along at a football match what will happen if one of the teams is TC.

Love must be in the Air between the GC's and the TC's.!!

Next one to follow from the north more than likely will be the Turkish Cypriot Airlines .!

Even if the proposals go through. The TC's haven't the infrastructure to compete in the main Cyprus league. Some of the grounds are very mediocre and security would be a main issue (crowd segregation, seating, stewarding). The only venue in the North side of Nicosia to hold any games is the Ataturk stadium, which could hold about 20,000 people however this will need to be refurbished big time. Back in the day before the troubles, you supported your home town club be it Greek or Turkish. There is a lot of things to consider, however we'll see. Thanks for the info Kafenes. By the way which team do you support?

I wouldnt get excited because the Turkish Cypriot FA consulted the political parties and was told this proposal by UEFA was unacceptable.

Solution through sport. What a fantastic idea.

Is that a joke M8?
ROC police cannot handle security issues at football matches in the south and you expect them to do in the north?Image

Yeah, right! I am sure somewhere in the package deal between CFA and the TCs there is a closure to allow you back to Gypsou and in your property!
