Greece has agreed for the first time to allow a Russian aircraft carrier to conduct military exercises in the southeast Aegean and within Greek air space this month, the Defense Ministry said yesterday. The carrier Kuznetsov will operate southeast of the Dodecanese island of Rhodes today, tomorrow and on January 8 and 10. It will also conduct exercises south of Crete on January 11. The ministry said that Russian Sukhoi 25 and Sukhoi 33 fighter aircraft and Kamov helicopters would take part in the operations. The Kuznetsov is currently on a mission in the Mediterranean with other ships in Russia’s northern fleet.

Just the right thing to do for an EU country to further isolate and distance itself from the EU which it benefited for so long and is proud to be member of.

Hmmm...Let's see what the EU reaction will be to this.

I think you may find that the EU are quite happy with this in-road to the Great Bear! Russia is a major, putative European partner.

... or do you believe that the EU would rather have a member state like Cyprus, being threatened, by an Islamic crypto-malingerer like Turkey, from legitimately exploring its own Oil Reserves within Cyprus-EU waters!

Doesntmatter, and all the other "recognition"-seeking Turks ... you will find that wherever you now turn, doors will be closing. The time for you colonialist, expansionist, human rights' abusing warlords is over.

Another year and no positive progress for the "trnc".

What will they do up north? ... Start heading south with their tails between their legs methinks.

Italian TV program mediteraneo was very critical about Greek side not giving proper asylum rights to North Africans coming through the turkish side without papers. Those africans interviewed said the greek side was very racists and no job opportunities available.

And your point is what in relation to "2009 a Bad Year for the "trnc" ..."?

They are responsible for directly sending settlers to the GREEK side to create tension with the EU regarding asylum seekers and to destabilise the population. Italian TV program will monitor the situation.

There is no "Greek" side in Cyprus, so let's just ignore these bollocks!
