The GC residents of the Northern Annanistan have no say in the running of their local administration, they elect no local councilors (unlike every other Country in the EU) but have to pay their local rates and taxes all the same. This revolving president is appointed by the 18% of the population and not the entire voting population of Cyprus. The constitution is an archaic undemocratic 'fifedom' more attune to the middle ages than to the 21 centuary.

so far the only response i got ot this was "the TCs in the south can't vote either"

well maybe when north cyprus is officially recognized it will be time for the GCs to demand political equality in north cyprus as well. then we'll see how nice it will be.
