he said he did not talk with media so they are using second hand information form people who were in the room, but it obviously has some truth to it as the UN will facilitate negotiates forever, this has to be the last chance otherwise a forced solution should be imposed.

Frustrating for you isn't it? I've lost count how many times over the years you've said that, jumping around from one false assumption to the next, but time will teach you that nothing can be forced on the RoC and everything can and will go wrong with the “TRNC”...

You fell hard last time yet you have learned nothing, this will be the final curtain and Im getting the feeling you will not like it. Feel free to pull out of the current endless negotiations or produce another resounding NO after negotiating for so long.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

It's terrible! It's worse than the Annan one. Much worse.

The one above looks UGLY with the red and blue. It looks so "desperate" and TACKY.

It's really, really, really bad.

The RoC flag was designed by a TC. It's beautiful....so simple and perfect. :D

The north has held out for 25 years so far, GR. FYI, East Germany lasted for just under 41 years and only went under after the Soviet Union would no longer support them. How long do you think that Turkey will continue to support the north? They may end up being rather more stubborn...

UN special envoy warns 2009 last chance for peace in Cyprus

The article you posted is junk from the Hurriet… (ALWAYS INCLUDE YOUR LINK)

http://www.hurriyet.com.tr/english/worl ... sp?gid=244

When it comes to the CyProb, never-ever read Turkish or Turkish Cypriot newspaper articles!

All statements supposedly made by Downer or some “UN report” in this article are bogus.

Downer would NEVER make a statement like… “The UN is tired of the Cyprus problem” or refer to the RoC as “the Greeks”.

Also, doing a search for the alleged statements should return just the one manufactured hit.

The entire article is not worth the paper it was written on.

That is exactly right.

Alexander was Australia's Foreign Affairs Minister for 12 years. He is a career politician and diplomat.

He is far too intelligent and professional to be leaking ANY information whatsoever to the Turkish, Greek, Cypriot and even Australian media.

You will notice that at every interview he is very well guarded, and does not like to play political games, which could jeopardise the talks.

I can also tell you that he personally is not a subscriber to the theory that these talks are our last chance, should they fail for any reason.

He is also resisting and against any moves to introduce any time frames for these talks. He wants the talks to go on for as long as it takes for an acceptable agreement to be reached, and one that has a reasonable chance of gaining a yes vote. But it is interesting how Turkey and Talat are in such a hurry. Could this have something to do with Turkey's EU progression? :?

He also does not believe that the "trnc" can ever gain any formal recognition, due to the fact that such an act would be the most dangerous precedence, as invasion and ethnic cleansing would effectively be tolerated.

He is learning the way of the Turk.

He already knew the way of the Turk, a long time ago.

There are many people working behind the scenes, as far away as Australia. They are people working within his party, and so far have been very effective.

And I can tell you, that above all, he is fair. But the GCs have nothing to worry about, as he does know what is right from wrong, and who the recalcitrants really are. Also, be sure that this information is reported to the UN Secretary General.

More will come out in the wash when the talks are over.

Mr H ... stop lying like the Turk you are

The above flag is so beautiful. It also has symbolic meaning to our struggle for independence.

Cyprus should adopt it. 8)

As the flag is loaded with Hellenic Symbols, selling it to the non-Greek Cypriots may be rather difficult...

Hey, if people are designing flags, I might as well add my one to the list (a little bit of EU blue...)

I couldn't agree more , keep the one that represented us all when our nation gained its independence .
