let me tell you that Miltiades has NEVER MOVED has always been consistent and has always been a G/C but Cypriot first . May I remind you that the G/C is utterly different from the Greek in that we are Cypriots and they are not , well I suppose we cant all be fortunate !!

By your own admission Miltiades, you were a supporter of Enosis, and you only backtracked to please the Turks, post 1974, in the hope that they will leave our country alone.

Whilst it is admirable to want your country back, it is a coward who denies his roots to avoid penalties, because he is too stupid, as you appear to be, to find a way to resolve conflicts, without selling his soul, as you are doing!

Think about how you would have appeared to "Little Miltiades" who was born and raised as a GREEK Cypriot ... you would be a let down and an embarrassment!

O , you are making stupid assumptions , I have more guts in my little finger than you in your entire body . Use your brain woman !

Hi Miltiadesmy friend. I hope your staff party went well.

I remember very well that I was ticked off when I mentioned a family member on the forum. I see the rules have changed, and Oracle is doing the same. Double standards from Oracle I say. Dont you agree?

Have a lovely Christmas with all your family my friend.

Good Morning Deniz , had a great time at our Christmas party .

Oracle , not being able to understand the fundamental criteria for supporting a specific course of events , such support a direct result of years of mind indoctrination by schools , churches , and every other influential avenue , all such influences totaly ignoring the island of Cyprus and all of its people , intoxicated with the motherland mythology .I supported the struggle against the British occupation of Cyprus and still do to this day . I supported ENOSIS for the reasons I gave above . I no longer do having discovered many years ago that there is such a nation as Cyprus and that this nation has all it takes to be an independent nation with its own unique identity, plus I have found out a few things about the Greeks I did not know back then . ENOSIS ?? NOT BLOODY LIKELY !!

With the new year coming I'm sure you will join me in wishing our mutual island all the success in the new year, plenty of rain and above all a good crop of earthly produce , such as Cyprus potatoes , Cyprus Bamies (okra)
Cyprus Melons and to all those "foreigners " a good crop of Cyprus Aggouria !!!

Merry Christmas mate and may the new year bring you some common sense , maybe then you may realize that Cyprus in its 10 thousand year history has NEVER been a part of Greece , influenced by the Greeks undeniably but Cyprus to us Cypriots happens to be the natural motherland of us all not the bloody foreign nations that you and others call your motherlands. My nation , my ethnicity , ( no lectures please ) is that of a Cypriot , I have not sold my country down the river as you obviously have but there again you call your self a patriot !!!!
LONG LIVE CYPRUS THE HOME OF THE INDIGENOUS CYPRIOTS , ALL OF THEM , TO HELL WITH THE FOREIGN CANCERS THAT HAVE SUCKED OUR WILL TO LIVE AS AN INDEPENDENT NATION .

ps. I'm as you know a true Pafitis , a Kipreos not kalamaras . As one kipreos to ...a kalamaras Have a good Christmas !!

Paphidis wrote:A bit rich considering that the previous Australian Government was arguably the most successful and popular administrations in Australian History. If he was a laughing stock, then why did the Australian people keep re-electing the same Government over 12 years? The Howard, Downer, and Costello Government would not have been referred as "The A Team" by the popular electorate and media for no reason. The strong fiscal policies of this Government actually turned a 14% unemployment rate to 4%, a 100 Billion Dollar budget deficit to a strong surplus, annual growth of 4%, wiped out Australia's foreign debt, and virtually turned all Australian investors into paper millionaires.

As for his views on Cyprus, I could actually tell you what they are, but I won't. Just be sure that he does know who is right and who is wrong, but above all he will conduct himself in a very professional and fair way. His record speaks for itself, and the Australian Electorate did re-elect him time and time again. He held his electorate for 25 years until he resigned in order to become UN envoy to Cyprus. He also played a crucial role in the Liberation and Independence of East Timor.

You cannot talk,Paphidis... You are a member of the Liberal Party, and hence not an objective commentator...I am a swinging voter as well and I have voted for the Fraser Liberal government in the past...They were people of integrity...The Howard government was popular but it was not good...In fact it was a disgrace,a reactionary government which in social policy took Austalia back to the 1950s...Under Howard racism became respectable in Australia, and we had the first race riots in Sydney where white Anglo supremists attacked anybody who looked mildly Middle eastern without serious consequences..Under Howard the native Australians got a raw deal, and Multiculturalism became a dirty word...Under Howard the environment was totally ignored and the Kyoto threaty was not ratified...Howard became Bush's deputy and followed him blindly into the mindless Iraq war...Under Howard individual freedoms dwindled under the guise of fighting for terrorism...Howard's was the most oppressive regime since his hero Menzies' from back in the early 60s....If,as someone from an ethnic background, you found the Howard government acceptable you need your head examined...Something is seriously missing on the top paddock...

What a load of rubbish. The Howard Government absolutely did nothing that encouraged any race riots whatsoever.

And yes, under Howard, Australianism became paramount which is quite crucial for a young country developing her own identity. It does not mean he was disrespectful to multiculturism.

As for Australia's very "special" relationship with the US, I think you will find that this has been the case since WWII, and no matter which administration is in power, it will never change. The Rudd Government is just as much pro US as anyone before him. Foreign Policy does not change when we have a change in Government. The only thing that changes is the window dressing.

As for me, I have always felt free in Australia. I feel more free today due to very responsible national security and border security initiatives by the Howard Government. I feel safe when I travel and don't give a damn about the extra security measures that I encounter at Australian Airports. I could not give a damn either, if ASIO decide to tap my phones, because I am no terrorist and also have nothing to hide. I am also glad that Australia's extensive security networks uncovered an Al Qaeda cell that was planning to bomb the Rialto Towers.

I am just one ethnic who found Howard acceptable. And believe me when I tell you there are thousands more that did. Greeks, Italians, Chinese, Germans, and even Turks found him acceptable. Usually these ethnics that did find him acceptable were more your entrepreneurial or educated types, whilst the first generations probably did not find Howard palatable.

Bottom line is that the Howard Government was popular, and was exactly the type of administration Australia needed at the time. You will also find that Australia may very well return to a Liberal Government if the current economic crisis continues, because the Rudd Government has the fiscal policies of a wombat. When things get tough, Australians vote Liberal. That must tell you something.

Pity you were not anywhere near the Cronulla Beach on that day the White supremists decided to beat up anyone looking like you and me...
You might be singing another tune now....

I have too much sense to be around when anarchists are rioting.

Just like Greece, Australia is a "real" democracy, and as such we have various political groups, most of which are decent and moderate and few that are Neanderthal fascists.

These white supremacists would be lucky to comprise 1% of society, and I can assure you that Howard condemns them as much as anyone else.

Don't talk to me about racism, because I was always labelled a wog when I went to school, along with many others. But Australia has also given me the best opportunities anyone can possibly hope for. Australian people are as racist as any other nation, no more and no less. And this racism has nothing to do with Howard or the former Liberal Government.

You also know that Australian people are very laid back and easy going, and our society is extremely liberal.

Merry Xmas!
