Easyjet does it again

Postby PatCon » Mon Dec 22, 2008 3:31 pm

From 31 March 2009 Easyjet will be flying Gatwick-Larnaca from 31 UK pounds (LGW-LCA) and for 41 euros (LCA-LGW) inclusive. Great news for the Brits and for those making their living from Cyprus tourists - another nail in the coffin for Cyprus Airways. Thank you Stelios.

And those prices are just for the first 30(?) seats?

Not sure this will make much difference to the tourism situation here.

That's always assuming that the pilots aren't on strike!

Easy Jet are using the planes they bought off GB Airways (who operated the BA franchise) so leg room is pretty good.

Easy Jet are no better or worse than any other airline that I've flown with. Oh apart from one thing - price. They are undoubtedly the cheapest - last flight in November was £80 return (including taxes).

Even the cabin staff are quite pleasant unlike some of the sour faced individuals I've encountered on Cyprus Airways.

Never had a bad flight with Cyprus Airways. I have however sat in Liverpool departure lounge for 16 hours when Easy Jet had no planes to fly to Warsaw.
To be fair to Easy Jet they did give me a £8 voucher for a drink and food, that's service for you !!

I just flew to the Uk, last night with Sleazyjet. My third flight with them; a quick comparison:

Sleazyjet /Cyprus Airways/Aeroflop

Cabin staff: Unsmiling /Miserable /What cabin staff?

Food: Expensive-limited /Pretty good /Pass the Borsch

Alcohol: Very expensive /Another bottle, pl. /Pass the Vodka

Seating: Yes ! /With your friend-family /Next to a goat?

I Like Cyprus Airways, but, if you avoid the extras (baggage hold/early boarding/eating-drinking) it is usually a lot cheaper. I flew for €210, which I thought a good rate for the Christmas holiday.

I flew once only with Easyjet single to Paphos , flight ok but in comparison to Cyprus airways Easyjet is second class .
The beauty with Cyprus airways is that you can take little more weight than allowed , comfortable seats with your own tv screen , all drinks free , I usually start with a couple of whites and then with meal a couple of reds , and staff are happy and friendly. Prices haven't been too bad either compared to the Chief Con men British Airways !!

Cyprus Airway is fantastic compared to GypsyJet - at least you don't have to fight for your seat with scum bags who are quite happy to punch and push children out of the way just to get a seat big enough for their huge butt!

I way prefer Cyprus Airways and if you have been here long enough you normally know at least one of the crew. The only problem is that you never know when they are going to be on strike!
