I would say Paphos (though I've never lived there nor worked there :? .... just shopped etc).

It's easy to get around, access to great countryside and coast, no water cuts :D

Agreed. Paphos is definitely the most liveable and beautiful city of Cyprus.

Not a good place if you need to work though. If that is the case, then you are condemned to Nicosia ( a fate worse than death :( ), or Limassol, which is a vast improvement on the former.

Others please note, that I have not lived in Cyprus. I am giving my opinion as a regular visitor to the island.

Nicosia and Limassol are the two large cities with robust, all-year-round economies and good shopping/entertainment facilities. I think these would be your best bet. Other places in Cyprus depend far more on tourism and the employment opportunities here are more likely to be seasonal.

Paphos , purely for being so close to Stroumbi the Great ! and not far from.... O

My base though is Limassol that I consider the best town in Europe , even the world as far as I'm concerned !!

Yes I was born in Paphos the District. Near Polis to be more precise. But the OP was asking for a City, not a town or village. :D

I was just comparing it to the other 3 he can choose from (legally) at the moment. Larnaca I dislike, Limassol and Nicosia are great too, but busy and crowded.

City

Would stay well clear of Paphos if you are thinking of coming to work in Cyprus. i spent a year here and the only decent jobs in Paphos are with the developers and they bad companys to work for. bad pay + the people in those companys are rude and igornant and treat the foreign workers like crap. would stay away from the biggest one on that note aswell. Paphos is a ghost town during the winter and there is nothing to do except go for meals or walks. its a season town booming during the summer and dead during winter. try Nicosia its the biggest city and has alot more to offer.
