This is the difference between this case and others before it. In this case the remedy demanded is not in rem (the return of the land) but in personam (against the violators themselves) and the Orams, if the case goes against them, will have to pay up for what amounts to the tort of conversion, that is illegally taking over and using someone else's land.
The excuse "I did not know" does not hold water in this or any other case regarding land in Cyprus. Everyone in the world must know by now about the political situation on the island.
The bottom line, that "lady" Mrs Blair is the first and most obvious winner in this case. She charged a fair amount of money to represent the Orams. I bet more money than the land is worth.
