U.K. Couple Should Demolish CY Home, EU Aide Says

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Turkey knows very well that the ECHR is not worth the paper it is written on because it has no power to actually enforce any decision.

Therefore it is up to the EU member states to support Cyprus and other nation that is under occupation by an ATILA regime, through ending all trade and returning all Turkish workers to Turkish shores. Then and only then Turkey might re-think its position in the Meditterranean and become an EU state.

"with Turkey firmly in control of the north, It's going to be interesting to see how this verdict is going to be enforced..."

This is the difference between this case and others before it. In this case the remedy demanded is not in rem (the return of the land) but in personam (against the violators themselves) and the Orams, if the case goes against them, will have to pay up for what amounts to the tort of conversion, that is illegally taking over and using someone else's land.

The excuse "I did not know" does not hold water in this or any other case regarding land in Cyprus. Everyone in the world must know by now about the political situation on the island.

The bottom line, that "lady" Mrs Blair is the first and most obvious winner in this case. She charged a fair amount of money to represent the Orams. I bet more money than the land is worth.
