Will the credit crunch in UK hit Cyprus hard

Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

Many families that are sending their kids to study in the UK next year are planning to buy a house for the kids rather than rent.

If you know anyone who is interested in a four bedroom house just round the corner from Ealing Broadway Station, a friend of mine here is trying to sell one.

You wouldn't buy a local leg of lamb for roasting, they are only any good for souvla. NZ Lamb (OK it is frozen, but I don't have a problem with that) is a very similar price to what you mention and excellent quality.

As a frequent visitor to Cyprus I cant help but notice how terribly expensive food and other household requirements have become in Cyprus. I do of course understand that the weakness of Stg makes everything very expensive to us "Charlies" . Milk , Butter , Cheese , Bread , Eggs are perhaps some of the most expensive in Europe .
At the moment the UK appears to be the cheapest nation in Europe on food and household essentials.

We are not all destitute and begging on the street yet.But I do feel that people are holding on to their money at the moment just in case.So yes I can see it being a little quieter everywhere, not just Cyprus. For example If you went to the Eurozone last year with £2000 to spend, you are not coming this year with £3000 just to make up the difference.
The all inclusive hotels woul;d be a better bet for families on a fixed budget so maybe these will be ok.
As for Casino's Russians, Arabs,
Hmmm hardly a future Brit magnet for a holiday destination

The man who started the thread asked a simple question...

"Shall I book my holiday for Cyprus or will it be too quiet this year?"

...he didn't ask for a global financial analysis!

Good point. Well, if the current situation in Limassol is anything to go by, the place will be packed out with Russians next summer.

 So the question then becomes... "Do I want a Russian holiday?"

Or else, since the Russians (sensible people) have a special soft spot for Limassol, would I prefer to go to an empty Agia Napa instead?
