He sure is Tim......Funny thing this politics,is it not?
Politicians must be a special breed genetically related to chameleon lizards..

Iceman, you may be interested to look at the following, which is where I found the above quote. It is a collection of past quotes by Mehmet Ali Talat and other leading lights of CTP put together by some fanatic nationalist mainland Turks to show how "un-Turkish" they are! You do not hear them saying these things any more.

Doesn't it really just show that the TRNC has been set up so that Turkey always gets to call the shots?

Tim ,
I hope you can find the answer why they changed and why they feel to change their ideas ?
question yourself about AP and promises of the EU and others .
on your next trip to north try to talk with people what they felt after the referendum and asked them what they are feeling about next coming one.
properly it will be in autumn and let us to know . by judging old articles or sayings are nothing now . It is in past . Important what they are planning or what they are thinking now .

Have you forgotten Makarios and his 13 attempted ammendments????

The GCs stuck by the Constitution after they failed to change it,and after the TCs left to go and sulk in their corners...Everybody failed miserably...
If you people do not get this fact in your heads, you will be only pissing against the wind... :(

Makarios jotted down 13 suggestions which he then duplicated and sent out to each of the protagonists including Britain, Turkey, Greece, and TCs, for their feedback. It was the most democratic and noble gesture anyone had ever made during those years… the man was WAY ahead of his time among a sea of trouble makers whose malicious ulterior motives became evident soon after.

GR!

Makarios was a brilliant tactician...He was playing cat and mouse games with them all..He knew the TCs were looking for an excuse to leave government...He gave them 13...But the motivation was not to make the Constitution more democratic...It was to knock out the TCs from power and pave the way for eventual declaration of Enosis with Greece...Make no mistake about this..Between 1964 and 74 tens of thousands of TCs left Cyprus...Makarios made it as easy and comfortable for us to do so...He was systematically getting rid of Cyprus from the TCs...Without the slightest considereation for their welfare or human rights...If you cannot accept this, and see most of the events in this light, you are letting yourself down...The irony is,had Makarios been left alone to complete his Mission the whole of Cyprus would've been a Greek island by now...You have every right to be angry with the Greek Junta and that idiot Sampson...And half the right to be angry with Turkey...

Everything what Makarios did until he supposidly changed his mind, was for union with Greece. The 13 ammendments he "proposed" (tried to force is more truthful) was an attempt to downgrade the TCs political position to pave the way for union with Greece.

Even when he "changed" his mind he still insisted on the 13 points which was clearly to give the GCs full and sole controll over Cyprus.

If that is what you call "democratic", it is obvious that you have no idea what the word means.

If Makarios was a clever man and way ahead of his time he would have known what the end result of his actions would be but his greed to go down in history books as the man who united Cyprus with Greece turned him in to a fool who could not put two and two together. He lost the plot and only managed to get a lot of people killed and the island divided.

As u were then!

I won't take any notice of the "your" or the missing comma.

But if you were to shut your damper hole, everything would be sweet. But sadly you must suffer from some kind of paranoia. Sad that you should shoot yourself in the foot like this.

You once seemed to be an intelligent fella. :?

What missing comma you goofball? It can be written either joined or separated... “your self” and “yourself” are both correct!

What you’re talking about is “You’re” which is an abbreviation of “You are”!

But you stated this:

Keep your suggestions to your self your Greek illiterate clown.

your self should be yourself

your - should be you or You're (you are)

Also, there should be a comma after your self which should be yourself.

Back to Primary School for you. 8)

How many things can you get wrong in such a small sentence?
