HUMAN RIGHTS EXHIBITION

Postby halil » Wed Dec 17, 2008 7:09 pm

HUMAN RIGHTS EXHIBITION IS BEING DISPLAYED AT BUYUK HAN UNTIL THE 20TH

Within the framework of events marking the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, a photograph exhibition was opened in capital Lefkosa last night.(North Nicosia)

“The Humanity on Trial”, which is being displayed at the Buyuk Han, witnesses the violation of fundamental human rights against men, women and children from all over the world.

The exhibiton was jointly organized by the Turkish Cypriot Human Rights Foundation, French Ambassador to Cyprus Nicolas Galey and the French Turkish Cypriot Cultural Association.

During last night’s opening ceremony, foreign students read out some sections from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in their native languages.

In her speech, the Head of the Turkish Cypriot Human Rights Foundation Emine Erk said the Foundation has been working hard to improve the enjoyment of human rights in North Cyprus further since 2005.

On his turn, Mr Galey said the universal declaration, which was immediately prepared right after the world-wide destruction caused by the Second World War, primarily intends to establish the common fact that every single individual has the right to enjoy human rights; and no person or authority should ban or withdraw them neither directly nor implicitly.

Humanity on Trial” will be open for visits until 20th December.

The Turks are the biggest violators of Human Rights. http://www.eubusiness.com/news-eu/1201123021.97/ And that doesn't even count the human rights of the 200.000 Cypriot refugees and the 15 million Kurds that they violate our rights every day! And I don't even count Armenians because those you genocided almost all of them. What you do every day of your lives is The Worst Human Rights Violations Exhibition and you are the record holders! Congratulations! TURKS OUT OF CYPRUS! FREEDOM TO CYPRUS!

Maybe the French thought that such exhibition could teach you something but I am sure you learned NOTHING. You will continue to violate the human rights of people tomorrow just like you are doing today. :( Trying to teach Turks about human rights and democracy is a waste of time.

Does their hypocrisy know no bounds, a Human Rights Exhibition in Cyprus by those who were complicit in the creation of 200,000 refugees.

YOU ARE HAVING A LAUGH!

Hang your heads in shame!

Human Rights are not merely an EXHIBITION .... they are something everybody puts into practice, every minute of their lives with every single encounter with another life-form ... but the Turks have a fundamental flaw in exercising this very basic Human virtue and instead set-up an EXHIBITION to by-pass actually demonstrating that they can manage to be HUMANE!

Agree with the other posters; these people illegally occupying the northern part of Cyprus should all hang their heads in shame, if they could ever feel remorse that is!

A “Human Rights” exhibition at an illegal military base, the very existence of which is contrary to international law? Is it any wonder why nobody respects you or takes the “TRNC” seriously? You are a disgrace…

The resident forum thugs constantly claim that Turks/TCs don't know anything about human rights/ are ignorant of human rights/abuse human rights.

Someone tries to raise the consciousness of Turks/TCs regarding human rights through an 'exhibition'. You'd have thought that even the thugs would think this a good, positive thing. But no : the resident forum thugs jump on their heads for trying to do so and condemn them for trying to raise the human rights consciousness whose allegedly low-level was the cause of the thugs constant moaning.

The hypocrisy of thugs.

SO you're saying that the reason they're having this exhibition is because they need to learn about human rights?

DT
If you condemn someone's behaviour or actions because of their alleged ignorance, and then that person makes the effort to educate themselves it is hardly fair to then kick them in the head for trying to improve themselves !

I don't think that there can ever be too much education and activism regarding human rights, not least among the smug and self-satisfied.
