Someone died in Greece and was buried the same day as TPapadopoulos in Cyprus?

Surely it's not TPapadopoulos the "Cypriot" covered in Greek flag, is it?

Yes, that is right!

He was paid the ultimate honour by being draped in the Greek and Cypriot flag. He deserved every bit of this well deserved honour by saving the Republic, not just for me but for future generations. :D

So he was not the President of all of Cyprus then as we constantly told the International community but the leader of the Greek Cypriot community !!!
Let us make up our minds now !!

I think you will find that most Cypriots have already made up their minds. Great victories do not come when some of you are so eager to abandon your integrity, dignity and sell your souls by bending over and taking it real good from Turks who are so eager to rape our heritage.

Paphitis , our heritage is that of Cyprus , we have never been a part of Greece , a relation , just as the T/Cs are to Turkey , we most certainly are to Greece but we are our own people just as the Australians , although most related to Britain , are their own people. What is it with Greece for crying out loud , I'm from a proud race that of Cyprus.
Can I just ask why do you constantly assume that because we consider our selves proud Cypriots therefor we must " take it from the back " by the T/Cs , rather childish of you I feel.

I think you have gone off on a tangent, and this makes it very hard to discuss such issues with a person who does not acknowledge the difference between Nationality and Ethnicity.

Yes Cyprus is a nation of its own, just like Australia, Canada, US etc etc.

However, many nations share a common Ethnicity or bond. In Cyprus' case, this is Hellenism which is not the sole property of Greece, but is the property of all Hellenes worldwide, whether that be in Cyprus, Canada, Australia (where there are about 1 million Hellenes) etc.

Good night all.

"In Cyprus' case, this is Hellenism", all of Cyprus?

Is there any room for Turkishsm for the TCs in the "Hellenic Cyprus"?

The Republic of Cyprus Constitution stipulates that their is ample room for your identity as well. Why don't you ask for your Zurich Agreement rights?

Ermmm. the photo above my question maybe? The one that you posted.

There's another 2 photos within the photo I posted. DO you mean what message does this photo as a whole represent to the people? Are you asking about the photo of the missing person in black and white carried by a relative? Or are you asking about the photo of Papadopoulos in front of the coffin?

If I wanted information about a photo within a photo I would have formulated my question differently.

Never mind DT, I know it pains you to give a truthful answer so I will refrain from forcing you to play silly buggers.

I have no problem with giving you a truthful answer if you ask a clear question.

No he means the ones you planned to sabotage in exchange for Taksim. The evidence lays in the safe left behind by the departed TC minister in the ministry of defense. How's your Cyprus history?

I'll give you a clue, it had the signatures of Denktash and Kucuk on it.

Papadopoulos and his likes brought misery to Cyprus, before 1974 with their micromegalism and after 1974 with their stupid arrogance. The most disturbing sign at the funeral was Dr Lyssarides who spoke on the occasion. We all know that Lyssarides hated his guts yet hypocrisy has no bounds in this banana republic. Omirou too, who until recently called him a "stupid know-all tweed" shed his crocodile tears for the sake of the cameras. Bloody hypocrites!

I know for a fact that Papadopoulos had more respect for his serious political opponents. I watched him cry and make an impromptu speach at the funeral of Andreas Ziartides who as the leader of PEO and father of trade unionism in Cyprus (many Turkish Cypriots have fond memories of this great man) helped Papadopoulos a great deal in his early days as Minister of Labour in the first RoC government. Papadopoulos, to his credit, recognised this and always honoured Ziartides.
