Water and the Festive Season

Postby SSBubbles » Tue Dec 16, 2008 8:54 am

Cyprus is still desperate for rainfall.

Does anyone know if the current water cuts will still be imposed over the Christmas and New Year period please?

Does the Waterboard have a website with such information? (preferably in English).

Thanks.

You after extra water for topping up all those whiskies you're going to drink over the festive season?

Statistically, December is supposed to be the rainiest month in Cyprus; on average Limassol is supposed to get 7 cm this month. So far, where I live we have had absolutely 0, so it is a fair conclusion that we are in deep **** as far as water goes.

The past couple of days I have noticed some quite grey looking clouds blowing across the sky and out to sea without depositing a single drop. It is frustrating to watch.

Add to that the fact that we had 1.5 cm last month, when the average for November in Limassol is 4.5 cm.

The Paphians are still trying to work out how to turn it on and off! They are probably being trained by their large Pontian community.

No silly, Webbo needs enough water to wash the dishes!

(I could not find anything on the site regarding the holidays!)

I know what you mean Tim, it really is so frustrating watching them all blow over. :(
