goverment holiday 15thdec!

Postby anna-sh » Sun Dec 14, 2008 8:29 pm

i find it hard to understand that only the schools & goverment offices will be closed tomorrow! what about the everyday workers?!! we should all be able to mourn the passing of an ex president! instead the goverment workers will get a paid extra day off to shop! can`t see them glued to the telly watching the funeral

The country is in a 3 day mourning period. Usually happends with Heads of State. (govt decided to treat his funeral with full head of state honours.)

I’ll make it up for you…

It’s been announced on all TV networks that tomorrow is a day of mourning for Cyprus in honor of the great statesman Papadopoulos who passed away on Friday. This means that all govt institutions will be closed and the decision is up to the private enterprise to follow suit for the first half of the day, and many will to attend the funeral and pay their respects.

If you still don’t understand then you can only blame your Jewish ancestry.

I was only asking a question and two of you have answered the question, which I appreciate. Surely my religion and ancestry should have no bearing on my asking the question.

So my shops should close. Please tell my staff that, or should I give them the day off with full pay ?
