That's right Bill , most of us old timers left Cyprus on ship , firstly on a boat from Limassol that took us onto the ship anchored about half a mile away from port , with relatives gathered at the port side waving white handkerchiefs. My ship was called Phocea and sailed right through to Marseilles , unlike most other sea journeys that called in Piraeus and Brindisi . From there on was a journey by train to Paris and then on to another train that took us to Calais from where we got the ferry boat to Dover and the train from there to Victoria .The journey took a week ! Let me just , for the benefit of GR !!!! recount my first experience at Victoria station as a 15 year old green Cypriot boy . On second thoughts I thnk I may PM GR so that he can take his time and read it over and over again !!!

I Thank the almight that you are back. Its horrible being the only mature (not geriatric) person aboard. I was getting fed up of being called the only 'old man' of the forum.

Sure we would all want to acknowledge the Old Man D's work as an intermediary in getting the other old man back. A glass or two of red anyone? :D

You have the water and I'll drink the wine, but it was Milti's wish to return to the fold of his younger brothers and sisters.

Welcome back Miltiades! Your cool, calm analysis of the CyProb, abilities to promote the true realities of the issues and to unite your fellow Cypriots, and suggestions (always correct!) for solutions have been missed.  You do bring passion to the discussions though......and will no doubt liven up the forum again.

Why you senile, demented retiree from CyprusDying  Just because the average age over there (75), made you feel like a spring souvla, it does not mean you can come over here, mixing fact with fiction and get away Scot free!

You may hope and pray, in your wild tantric fantasies that I may be 59, to avoid being labeled a paedophile, but let me tell you, and turn up your hearing aid, that your well-advanced age and pseudo-seniority do not make an ounce of difference on CF, where your accuracy is the only thing being measured!

On behalf of the Choirokitian community I welcome Miltiades back to the forum subject to his denunciation of all things imperialist, and his complete acceptance of the following alternative definitions for mottos and catch phrases…

“God save the Queen” now becomes “God save the Cypriot constitution”

“In God we trust” now becomes “In God we should trust but we don’t!”

“Islamofascism” now becomes “Islamic resilience that should be respected and accepted”

“Terrorist” now becomes “Any human being causing death & destruction regardless of ethnic background or method used”

“Terrorism” now becomes “Any human action causing death & destruction regardless of the perpetrator or methods used”

Now, if you’ll just sign across the dotted line you’re all done! :D

No we are jolly well not!

We are still missing Pantheman, the loss of whom is directly attributable to this prodigal member (Old Miltiades), who shall remain on Presidential probation until he instigates a successful campaign for the safe return of this casualty of the cataclysm brought on by Old Miltiades' last nights of drunken debauchery on CF!
