Ok ladies and gents, im getting a bit tired of the constant mud slinging and political rubbish going on in the CF so i have today decided to give forum members updates on my weekly fishing adventures.
Our first report is based on last weekend. Our target fish was the famous "yellow tail kingfish" and ofcourse as always "jewfish (mulloway)".
Our report starts on Thursday afternoon where i was chasing the bait to be used for catching these fish as they are very picky with what they'll eat. Using what we call a squid jig i caught 5 squid. If you have a good look at the picture below, my size 11 foot is about the same size as the squid, not bad. Anyways i caught 5 on Thursday and put them straight in the freezer ready for the weekend.

So now we have the bait, and we begin at 4.00am in the morning on Saturday, me and my friend put his boat in the water and head straight to our Kingfish spot and wait for the sun to rise, and around 5.00am the sun rises and the kingfish start to bite, they are a very strong fish that fight hard and can break your line, by about 9.00am we have caught 8 kingfish and lost costless more due to their fighting ability. These fish are cleaned, taken home, wrapped in foil with vegies put on the mangal (bbq) for 10 mins each side....Beautiful!!

So our fishing is done by 9.30am on saturday and i still have some squid left over. We decide on Sunday night to go for another fish to finish off the bait. This time we are fishing at night and targeting Jewfish, probably the best eating fish in Australia and the hardest to catch. Again we put the boat in the water at 7.00pm and head to our other spot, the weather wasnt looking too good and it started lightly raining around 8.30pm and i told my mate"lets go". He said give it 10 mins and we'll leave, as soon as he said that my rod starts to scream as a large fish takes my bait after a 15 min struggle we caught this 70cm ++ Jewfish. After some high fives the rain gets heavier and we pack up about 9.00pm, home by 10.00pm and in bed ready for work the next day.

I’m not into fishing but I’ll probably still read it. Hearing about someone we know having a good time is always a welcomed post…

The white-ish, octopus looking thing in the first pic mate, im sure you know this though, squid is a very popular dish amongst austrlia's greek/gc community. You must have squid in cyprus...dont you???

ahhh the famous fishing shoes, anything item of clothing i have that is more than 12 months old is relegated to "fishing clothes/shoes" by my wife...just as im getting used to wearing them and they are getting comfortable!!! Eventaully i will have more fishing clothes than i do normal clothes.

That's kalamari. Not bad, but give me tsipoura/çipura any time.
