Denktas: There will be a referandum in 2009

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Denktas: There will be a referandum in 2009

Postby halil » Wed Dec 10, 2008 5:18 pm

Serdar Denktas says a document of agreement could emerge by february or march .

up till now the only progress reached at talks was an agreement to place meterology under the authority of federal adminstration.

Serdar says :GC's were aiming for a unitery state with their proposals. TC's side was seeking a settlement on the basis of an improved version of the Annan Plan.

Any hopes for solution were fading .However he belives that the US and UK will force the two sides to accept a deal in february or march next year to settle the 40 year long dispute.Following the emergency of the deal ,simultaneous referanda will be held on both sides of divide .......

more to come after coffee break ..............

GR , he can employee you as his adviser !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lets see whatelse he is saying :

A preplanned economic collapsed was awating N.Cyprus following the referada.''It is as if the people who voted us out of power brought the current goverment to power so they could exprience this''

Explaning that north Cyprus had still not started to exprience the affects of the global financial crisis but will do so after referandum . he had concerns that people would vote for the deal during the referandum to escape their current problems.

Referringto lack of information about the topics the 2 leaders were discussing in private outside the munites book when they met for negotiations says Denktas.

''We are very concerned about where this process is leading us .Taking into account foreign and domestic developments,we are worried that we will be on the losing end ''

'The GC's are telling us demolish the house you built and we will give you a room in your house. But we are concerned about people acting on the notion that their homes are dissolving and that they should seek refuge in a room offered by their neighbours''

Denkas claims that altough a solution will take place in Cyprus, there will be no peace and insists ''what is said to be solution is the beginning of a new problem. One of the two sides could lose out and if the other side has to accept something unwillingly ,then this could be a reson to start of a new conflict ''

True, there is an element of risk, but what isn't without risk these days?
