Yuk!!

Give me dark brown eyes anytime. A lady need no more than that.

Jewellery has a spiritual quality. Pottery served a useful utilitarian function, stone tools also ... but when primeval man/woman started making jewelry, you really know civilisation emerged ...

(What a great excuse to collect trinkets :D )

Why did I ever think that you were different. What a fool I am. Wimin. Huh.

Mind you, I dont mind the Opal, but only as a keepsake and not a female ornament.

Actually I was envying the talent that went in to making the above elaborate creations.

I sometimes make my own too, which are fantastic, but only because I keep to simple styles but use very expensive hand-made glass beads like Murano (Venetian) glass etc.

You should revive your old hobby then. It would keep you off the forum for a while...............keeping some of your compatriots happy.(Not to mention most TCs too)

Did you know that some GC Jewellers prior to 1974 would go and train in the gold and silver filigree works at 'Istinpoli'/Constantinopolis? I was told this by a GC in the Arastas before 1974. :?

Even though I am not much into jewelery, I believe it needs a lot of skill, patience and imagination to create items like the above. I give full credit to A-lissa. They really are works of art.

I agree. She is obviously really creative and original. I would copy her designs for my own use, but I know enough to realise there is a lot of hard work and skill in there too, which I could not reproduce.

Any man out there wanting to buy for his special person could do no wrong with any of those IMHO (although personally I would just take them out to admire them rather than wear them ... they are lovely).

P.S. If hubby is reading this .... I am not hinting

Ofcourse they are. Anything created by hand is beautiful. The natural stones too have there beauty. But I would not use such jewellery to ingratiate my wimin.

I try to use a qualitative material (not worse Murano;)).А still each work is unique and individual, and it seems to me that such things are much more pleasant for receiving as a gift - no machine tool will be compared to the love enclosed in handwork and power.
OK.There are more simple things

These I would actually wear (as bracelets, anklets) ... they are gorgeous :D

But I most like hues of pinks, rose, lavenders and blues ....

I love the tear-drop, pale quartz-like beads on the lower bracelet.
