Here are some reliable figures regarding the death toll during the 1974 Turkish Invasion. The source is impartial and reputable. We do not require to post our own propaganda like Zan did from
ATATURK.COM.
Cyprus (1974)
Clodfelter: 4,500-6,000 Greeks mil/civ k + 2,000-3,000 missing/presumed d. + 300 Turkish mil. k. [= 6,800-9,300]
Eckhardt: 3,000 civ. + 2,000 mil. = 5,000 (1975-85)
B&J: 5,000 (1974-78)

The Greek Coup was an entirely GC event and purely targeted the Cypriot Government. The coupists did not deliberately target civilians. They may have targeted certain inner circle Makarios supporters, politicians, KYP security attaché to Makarios, Cypriot Police and some senior leftist activists. It had collapsed in less than 5 days.
The death toll from the coup itself was around 100 individuals from both sides. The figure of 2,000 touted by Zan is ludicrous. The coupists by no means killed an average of 400 persons each day. There was very little bloodshed on the streets of Cyprus.
