That's better.

You only say that BIR because you know full well that Turks are probably the most nationalistic race in the world, and therefore it is not possible for them to drop their Turkishness. Hell will freeze over before any real Turk drops their identity.

You are just as bad as the Neo Partitionists. You do not want a solution to the Cyprus Problem at all. You probably salute Ataturk every time you go to bed. You are a false prophet.

It is not about sucking any one's tit as you crudely say. It is about identity and ethnos. You are again confusing ethnos and identity with nationality.

Thats not fair Paphitis. You should have stuck to your original list. You should never poo poo good intentions. I am not one for the "Leap of Faith", but I can admire the need for good. I don't think it is as easy as Bir makes it out to be and I would rather know for certain that my milk supply is guaranteed before detaching myself from my mothers breast.

I don't know what original list you are talking about. I don't keep any lists of forumers or anything like that.

No one is asking you to make a leap of faith. Perhaps a small little step is all we can expect from someone such as yourself. I understand you have principles you wish to stick to. I admire people who stick to their guns. However, a small step you may wish to consider is possibly visiting the RoC for a day, maybe 2. Speak to as many GCs you possibly can and get to know today's mentality, which is a far cry from that of 63 or 74. Put a human face on this division and you may sway towards breaking the barricades of division. Even I have visited the "trnc", and I can honestly say I have no hatred towards TCs. Maybe a bit towards the TA and the Neo Partitionists, but I guess you can expect that.

I am not 1 to try and convince any TC to abandon their Turkishness. I understand that most of you would not want this, as most GCs are also hesitant about abandoning their heritage as well. Heritage is not something that can be discarded like a rain coat. Both Greek and Turkish culture can be adopted and coexist on the island. Both languages and both religions can also coexist. It is not rocket science. Multicultural countries have proven that what I am saying is not farfetched at all.

As I said, every GC and TC can make 1 small step. Yours would be to visit the RoC, because I guarantee you that you won't regret it.

It is not my duty to be anyone's moral compass. In the end you will only do what is in your heart and who am I to say anything to defy that. But if you really want some kind of solution that unites the island then you would visit the RoC in order to at least make an assessment on how things are today. If you do not desire a solution, then you will not visit.

Each to their own. We are all individuals and free to choose our own direction and identity. This has to be respected. Individuals such as GR! or BIR have no right to be dictating to anyone. The bull shit angle they are trying to push, which is that we all discard our heritage  and the Cyprus Problem will be solved is very simplistic and unrealistic. The key to a solution is tolerance and acceptance of both communities and cultures.

Paphitis, you need to have a bit more respect for peoples ability to distinguish between the people and its politics. You contradict yourself in your post here by saying that you are not one to lecture when the truth is that you are not one to appreciate where others are coming from. That and you sound very BIR like in your final sentence. Are you struggling with your identity???

I spent my whole teenage life with GC friends in the UK, oh, and my best friend was an Armenian. A visit to the so called "RoC" will see me greeted with Greek flags that show me where the politics lay. I need go no further. I am not one of those that look at ALL Greeks as bad but more a case of brainwashed majority that think the Turks will eat their children.

Tolerance I have in abundance. It is the politics that is the problem and I have no tolerance of that. My rights were stolen from me and the people who have it are refusing to give it back but cry about their own losses. What's needed is not tolerance but honesty by those in charge. I have been fighting for three years just to get one point over about what happened in 1963 as a personal experience and the dishonesty of the GCs on this forum has proved that the GCs are no where near giving me anything....They come up with al kinds of crap disguised as democracy when it really means nothing to them. My democratic rights are nothing to them.

This is not about multiculturalism...Another ruse...It is about self determination of two people who can govern together or apart.....The Zurich agreement was set up with this in mind and in heart. It was tried in India too but now we have two countries there also.

You go first. In one sentence, summarise the message you wished to convey in this thread.

Surely you don't need an entire seminar to learn that it was the summer of 1570 near Limassol? :?

Will people here finally quit bashing Limasol?

I can’t go back and change history… that’s where the Ottomans first landed! They must’ve heard about the wine festival…
