Why be a muslim Cypriot? You can be a Turkish speaking Cypriot! Or just a Cypriot!

Did you believe what Denktash has been telling you all these years? That “the only Cypriots are the Donkeys!”

Aren't you a Cypriot? Isn't it enough for you to just be a Cypriot? If you want to be a Turk, then you should go to Turkey.

Here is Cyprus!

Did I ever say that I have a problem being a Cypriot?

Those "Cypriots" who want to feel only Greek and do not want to feel Cypriots or they have a problem being Cypriots, then yes, they should go to Greece.

Whenever I go abroad and people ask me where I come from, I say Cyprus.
When they ask me what nationality I am, I say Cypriot.
When they ask me what language I speak, I say Greek.

Kifeas We dont take all Turks in Turkey, Already have enough people in Anatolia. And Turks live other place than Turkey too.

Let them call theyself what they wish.
We made this mistake for Kurds...
I understand your motives. You try to create a nation for your country.
But this does not happen in one day.
I am sure, There are greeks who irritiate to call themself cypriot too.
Time will change Turks and Greeks into the Cypriots.(If this never happen) You should try to create atmosphere for creating the new nation.
New nations will not born in one day.
For this Trust should be build between GC and TC.
Than you should fight against something together.
Building a new nation is difficult thing.
And no As I see there is not a one nation in Cyprus but two.(exception of Donkeys.lol)

Kifeas,

Calm down man!

I respect what you feel about your identity and in my opinion you need to respect what I FEEL about my identity as well.

Yes, being "Cypriot" is not enough for me.

I am currently a PhD student in UK, and I see many GC everyday around. Majority of these people even dont say "hi" to TC, completly ignore TC. Beleive me having a friendship with a greek is much much easier than a GC.

I dont want to be a "cypriot" who gives a passport Abdullah Ocalan.
I dont want to be a "cypriot" who supports armenian genocide claims.
I dont want to be a "cypriot" whose president has business relations with Milosevic.
I dont want to be a "cypriot" which always gives 12 points to Greece in eurovision and gives 0 to Turkey.......

I sincerely appreciate your strong possesion of cypriot identity but when you say "I am cypriot" outside people will firstly imagine "a guy from one of the greek islands". I DONT WANT TO BE THIS KIND OF "CYPRIOT".

Yes, I am CYPRIOT as well. BUT I DONT WANT TO BE "ATTACHED" TO CURRENT CYPRIOT IMAGE.

But just be realistic. Maybe we can form a real cypriot identity but this wont happen in one day as Murtaza says. We sould firstly understand and accept our differences, respect each other then hopefully...

heres what you do. go to Eurovision and demand that the points given from Cyprus must be equally represented by both communities and none of that majority BS.

Entertain yourself. People should have a common struggle first to become a nation.
