Since you are in need of clarification ...

3 things really:

1. I happen to have read Bir's views on EOKA and I thought it inappropriate he dragged up this particular point.

2. Although never having smoked myself, I think it unfair of people to bring up this issue when one has been diagnosed with lung cancer since I know lung cancer can develop even in non-smokers.

3. The last sentence in view of Bir's heavy style of association suggesting "carrying the weight of history" implies something more. Well known tactic of Bir's IMO.

Now I will apologise on the matter to DT. of posting anything which can be used as an excuse to bring in further negative comments, as we await better news that treatment may help stave off the inevitable...

Oracle,
Pray tell me my views on the EOKA...I am very curious what you actually read...I have been living in Oz for nearly 40 years...I have been to many Christian funerals of all denominations..People (if not the Priest) stand up and talk about the life and times of the deceased....I just wanted to say something more than a plain RIP...Papadopoulos is/was carrying the weight of history on his shoulders...He was a Minister in the Makarios government in his mid 20s,and went on to serve as President towards the end of his life...What is wrong with stating the obvious???
The fact that you look for hidden meanings in everything I say, even in this context, tells me that you have totally lost the plot, that the bitterness and hatred you have for Turks and the TCs (which you YOURSELF do not differentiate) has diminished your mental capacities for cognition and analysis...I feel sorry for you...

You gave your opinion and I stated what I thought about it. Fair enough. Debate! Where it became ridiculous, is when Kifeas decided to complain that someone was giving an opinion on someone else's opinion when the someone else would not have been his choice (Bir) and that a fourth person (Malatya Man) would have been a better choice!.

I stand by what I said Bir. It is up to you to take it on board or fight it out ... ON ANOTHER THREAD!

(P.S. Please find another word for "Bitter" you have worn it out .....)

You sad lot and usurper of Greek Cypriot property, the only Malatya that exists is that one in Turkey. What you renamed as Malatya in the north is only an illegally usurped GC village, whose formal name is “Palaiosofos,” and it so happens to be my mother's village. Check any international map of Cyprus, and you will find this out. Just because you illegally renamed a place, it doesn’t make it so, but it only makes you a thief and a trespasser. Your days are counted, for being called upon to give an account and an apology for your wrongdoings!

...and back to the Topic...

Clerides’ health improves

FORMER Cyprus President Glafcos Clerides’ health yesterday saw a ‘very satisfactory’ improvement, his doctors announced.

According to his personal doctor, Iosif Kasios, Clerides underwent a series of tests yesterday morning, the results of which were very good.

“His condition this morning was very satisfactory,” said Kasios. “We hope he continues this way, but you can never be sure what the future holds for a man with so many health problems at such an age,” he added.

Kasios said Clerides was in his usual good humour, while the operation in his left hip – which was cancelled on Friday due to health complications – will take place depending on how his condition progresses.

The former President was taken to Evangelistria Clinic last Thursday with a fractured hip.

He was yesterday visited by President Demetris Christofias – who said they talked about developments in the Cyprus problem – and MEPs Ioannis Kasoulides and Panayiotis Demetriou.

Papadopoulos critical but stable

By Alexia Saoulli

FORMER President Tassos Papadopoulos’ condition was yesterday listed critical but stable.

The 74-year-old, who has been in Nicosia general hospital’s Intensive Care Unit with severe breathing difficulties and advanced lung cancer since November 22, was surrounded by his family and close associates.

“We are all praying and our blessings are with Tassos Papadopoulos and all his family,” said President Demetris Christofias.

Christofias was speaking to reporters yesterday morning following a 25-minute visit to Papadopoulos’ bedside.

Later in the day the former president was visited by House president and DIKO leader Marios Garoyian and Health Minister Christos Patsallides.

Other visitors also included Defence Minister Costas Papacostas, National Guard chief Constantinos Bisbikas, Greek Amassador Demetrios Rallis, DISY MEP Panayiotis Demetriou and former president Spiros Kyprianou’s widow, Mimi Kyprianou.

Meanwhile House President Mario Garoyian’s official visits to Hungary and the Czech Republic were yesterday cancelled due to Papadopoulos’ condition. The announcement was made by Garoyian’s spokesman, Andreas Constantinou.

Talk for yourself. Nevertheless there is still some humanity around. Tpapa has a family, children and possibly grand children too.

Sorry Deniz but so did all the people he killed or help to dislodge from their homeland. He has been poring salt on the wound ever since.

You hate Papadopoulos for the same reason you hate me and every decent person who fights for human and democratic rights and for the freedom of Cyprus from foreign rulers. You have absolutely no evidence to support your lies against him.

Nobody is flawless, but Papadopoulos is an angel compared to the murdering scum of the Zan kind, who have abused, murdered, and enslaved the Cypriot people for centuries.

We don't expect you to like us Zan. We know that the only ones you like are the obedient slaves of the Bananiot kind. But be sure that the vast majority of Cypriots will not capitulate to the invaders of your kind, and we will continue to fight for freedom, democracy and human rights.
