PRAT

my thoughts are with his family. As for my thoughts for you, thats another subject and I'll tell you about them on another thread.

May he rest in peace.

Reporting publicily the death of someone without getting your facts right, is a very serious matter. Therefore I think an apology from you would be in order.

Before you shoot the messenger, you should be aware that his death (rightly or wrongly) was PRINTED in at least one newspaper (Africa) here this morning!!!
And I would also add that the phrase "may God have mercy on his soul" is not implying that the deceased was a bad person - it is a very common phrase used when someone dies. So I think Bir and DT are the ones who should receive an apology!!!!!

Anyone who allows himself to be misinformed by "TRNC" newspapers should be shot on the spot like an echinococcus infested mutt…

They obviously got their "news" from DT.'s thread .....

(DT. could be very useful in future  )

I cannot possibly understand for what purpose and on what merit Paphitis and Oracle started splitting hairs with some other people in this thread! Nothing of what is being said in this thread -with the exception of the words of a sad lot coming from Malatya in Turkey, deserve such an emotive reaction on the part of those two people.

Kifeas,

I have got some information as to the "real" condition of Tassos Pappadopoulos. For now I would just like to leave it at that.

I can assure you that I do not believe I am over reacting.

Since you are in need of clarification ...

BirKibrisli wrote:He was probably the last living important EOKA leader...He saw off Makarios,Grivas,Yorgadjis,Kiprianu and even Sampson....He was i believe a heavy smoker....I wonder if that was because he was carrying the weight of history on his shoulders

3 things really:

1. I happen to have read Bir's views on EOKA and I thought it inappropriate he dragged up this particular point.

2. Although never having smoked myself, I think it unfair of people to bring up this issue when one has been diagnosed with lung cancer since I know lung cancer can develop even in non-smokers.

3. The last sentence in view of Bir's heavy style of association suggesting "carrying the weight of history" implies something more. Well known tactic of Bir's IMO.

Now I will apologise on the matter to DT. of posting anything which can be used as an excuse to bring in further negative comments, as we await better news that treatment may help stave off the inevitable...

Talk for yourself. Nevertheless there is still some humanity around. Tpapa has a family, children and possibly grand children too.
