He was without doubt an important figure in recent Cyprus history....He was probably the last living important EOKA leader...He saw off Makarios,Grivas,Yorgadjis,Kiprianu and even Sampson....He was i believe a heavy smoker....I wonder if that was because he was carrying the weight of history on his shoulders....May God have mercy on his soul...And may he rest in peace... :(

Don't worry about God having mercy on his soul. If He exists then I am sure TPap will take his rightful place, since he dedicated and sacrificed himself for the benefit of the Cypriot people. He loved his country and his people.

He is the saviour of The Republic of Cyprus, and he will be remembered as such forever. The man is a national hero.

I think you have lost the plot.

You will find that all Cypriots respect this man. And this respect is bi-partisan.

You on the other hand disrespect him by stating that God should perhaps have mercy on his soul. Your post is most cheeky and underhanded whilst this national hero is fighting for his life.

Fighting for his life does not make him a hero, if he was elected again, I wld have believed you..but most of the Cypriots rejected him..God knows why

You should absolutely not post anything further in this thread because your false sympathy delivered in a most underhanded and sly way is very telling of your agenda and character.
