Correct me if I'm wrong Zan, but isn't the Armenian politician you are talking about is a Cypriot of Armenian heritage, or else how can he become a President of Cyprus if he is an Armenian. If he is a Cypriot Armenian, then he will do what is best for his country of Cyprus and all it's citizens. This is where the GC's do not trust TC leadership at the moment, because they only see themselves as seperate people and not as a Cypriot, which they fear, that they will help Turkey more than they will help all other Cypriots. Look at how much Talat is complaining to the EU that Christofias is picking on Turkey for that and for this. This paints mistrust, that Talat's aim is to help Turkey with her EU entry and not so much finding a Fair and Just solution for all Cypriots.

I guess you think Obama will now become Kenyan again because of his heritage and no longer stay as an American. Well, you might be right, as it was alleged that he was now bringing all his long lost family to the USA as seen in this picture. Brings a new meaning to "Coming to America".!

In the first place it's not your TRNC.......it belongs to the Cypriot people and was taken by force by the people you seem to love the most you plonker Nobody is asking you to forget your Turkish side. AS I said elsewhere,Piratis,there is little point arguing with you..Your mind is made up and nothing will change it...No amount of logical argument or historical facts..You are not after a democratic solution..You are after punishment and revenge...You are so bitter, you can't even see that two wrongs will not make one right...That Turkey failed terribly to deal humanely with Her minorities does not give you the right to deal in the same way with the TCs...Because by insisting on Enosis with Greece at the time you were totally ignoring the TC wishes and fears...That was the tyranny of the majority I was talking about...But you will never see that...

Bir, I didn't see you countering what I say with any logical arguments or historical facts. You are not providing such things with your last post either.

I don't know where you saw that I am after "punishment and revenge". Unlike the TCs that want to violate our rights and take our lands, what I always say is that every Cypriot citizen should have the 100% of his human and democratic rights and the right to his own land. So where did you see the punishment? Unless you mean taking back our land and rights from the TCs who forcefully took them from us is a "punishment" for the TCs?

Also I don't know where you saw the "two wrongs that will make a right" from my part. What I advocate is what is right, which will make a right: Democracy and human rights, as they applied to all other EU states (not Turkey!!). If you had accepted what is right from the beginning then we wouldn't have to go through all this suffering. But it is never too late to accept what is right, so I hope you will finally stop trying to find excuses for yet more wrongs, which can never add up to anything right.

Piratis , in a true democratic Cyprus , it is feasible to see the creation of a new political party or perhaps the evolvement of an existing one that would embrace any political person regardless of colour or " ethnicity" and presuming that the party would select as its leader the best political mind , subject of course to its electoral manifesto such leader could be a T/C , would you , if you were this party's ideological supporter , be happy in the knowledge that a Turkish Cypriot could become the President of a united Cyprus ? Comparisons must be made to the greatest democracy of them all the USA where a black African was elected by mostly the whites accepting him as an American first , and African second.

I would be interested to know whether you still support , as I did but no longer do , the union of Cyprus with Greece , such aspirations were perfectly understandable way back in the 50s when the Cypriots lacked any national identity , very different today when Cyprus is a UN member , a EU member and an "established" nation the world over. Further more the majority have come to see Greece as a "relation " but certainly not as a motherland .

Parties should be based on ideologies and policies, not on ethnicity. So all parties should be like that.

The president of the 3rd largest party in Cyprus and the President of the Parliament is an Armenian Cypriot and this proves this point. Armenian Cypriots are just 1% of Cypriots.
