Are you comparing Ecevit with Papadopoulos???
Ecevit ordered the invasion that killed 1000s of Cypriots and ethnically cleansed 100s of thousands. Do you, or anybody disputes this fact? What did Papadopoulos did to you? He didn't agree that an 18% minority along with foreigners should have the right to undemocratically impose their will on Cyprus? That was his "crime"?
I wonder, if you had the power would you convict Papadopoulos for his "crime" like you did with Archbishop Kyprianos?During the Greek War of Independence in 1821, the Ottoman authorities feared that Greek Cypriots would rebel again. Archbishop Kyprianos, a powerful leader who worked to improve the education of Greek Cypriot children, was accused of plotting against the government. Kyprianos, his bishops, and hundreds of priests and important laymen were arrested and summarily hanged or decapitated on July 9, 1821.
Piratis,
Oracle was disputing that anything bad was said about Ecevit on this Forum...so I provided the link above for her information...I am not comparing the two...But you have to realise that for most TCs the demand for Enosis and the efforts of the EOKA to bring it about are anathema... Your failure to grasp this point is unfortunate.
It takes away from the credibility of your arguments...We are not talking about historical facts, mate, but emotional thinking and conditioning.Very powerful stuff indeed. But you can't dismiss it out of hand like you seem to do. It is the key to most of our problems, which must be addressed if we are to reunite our homeland...
