I can only hope he never dies....Or there will be bloodbath in CF...

The fact that people have expressed their joy at the news of a death of a human being is something different that this forum has not really experienced before.

The people that have come forward with these posts should expect a different approach from now on even by some the moderates.

DT, just ignore them. They are unknown names behind a keyboard.

Angry unknown names that are frustrated that he will be flapping his Blue and white wings in Greek heaven while the rest of us still suffer his actions. What a legacy.

Have you finished your champagne Zan?

Anger makes it hard to swallow Deniz.......

You have always come accross as a compassionate person Zan. Be generous with your compassion and your champagne will go down well.

I am struggling with my better self on this one Deniz and I am not afraid to say it.........When the anger dies then I will feel bad but at the moment I have Tpap on one side of the scale and thousands of dead Cypriots and a little 3 year old kid sitting in an attic waiting for the Greeks to attack with only stones to hurl out of the window, on the other.......

Ok, Zan. I give in on this one but there is a time and place or another thread in the coming.

You are right Deniz and I did try to stay away from this thread...Also, I am not blaming you for being angry at me......

Lets see how truthful you are.

You stated that 2000 GCs were killed by the coupists. As far as I know, the death toll was a few dozen GCs.

Can you please substantiate your claim of 2,000 GC dead, by posting a credible link? :?

Is Makarios' speach a good enough link for you Paphitis?????Take a look at it and take note of the bit where he says "The streets are littered with bodies"............A few dozen?????

I have posted many BBC reports of the day and don't have the time to do the leg work again for you...If you are genuinely interested in finding out the truth then look for the evidence yourself. A very good GC friend of mine told me that his father was responsible for burying these people in one part of Cyprus.......He said the dead were brought in by the truck load.

I don't know what Makarios said, but those were crazy times. The official death toll from the coup is not more than 100 or so GCs. Your claim of 2000 dead is ludicrous. The coup collapsed within 5 days for heaven's sake. When did they have the time to kill so many people? :?

You are the one that made this claim and so it is your responsibility to back it up. And only a neutral non biased link will do. Turkish propoganda such as the shit you spout is not acceptable.

As I have said....I have proved the possibility of such a large number and have no intention of playing your little game......You say you don't know about Makarios' speech but still make assumptions about the numbers....To me, you are not interested in the truth or you would do all you can to find out......If you do make the leap then have a look for the 10,000 Makarios supporters that were in line to be massacred.....

You guys have no common sense at all at times.......But then you are desperately trying to convince yourselves that the propaganda you have been fed is true when recently you find it falling apart. There was full on war between the coupists and the GCs........Hand to hand combat...Then there was the time when Makarios asked his followers to lay down their arms but the coupists did not stop the killing.....All this and just a hundred people dead.....My friends dad buried more than that in one area...

I am well aware of how some Makarios supporters were listed on various hit lists by the coupists. I am not aware of them numbering 10,000, but I do not deny that this may be the case.

However, the death toll numbered around a few dozen individuals. You mention a ludicrous figure of 2000 in less than 5 days. :? You refuse to post any evidence to back up your statement, because the evidence does not exist. You just open your mouth and spurt propoganda. You also have the audacity of accusing other forumers of doing the same.

You can use the bottle of champagne, I am going to open, to wash out the stains.... 8)

Well done Zan, openng a bottle of champagne to celebrate a death. You've really made an effort there.

Perhaps you should go back and read all the posts when Ecevit or Denktas was mentioned.........Where were you then......Sipping Cyprus wines maybe???

Your imagination is wrecking havoc with your excuses ... Yes Zan go back over the thread and you will see, not a single person mentioned Ecevit and the only one who mentioned Denktash was ...... Karma!

Do yourself a favour,Oracle, and search for some of the threads where Ecevit's name has been mentioned....Even you might be ashamed of some of the comments there...

Karma tries to make light of most things....It is her way of dissipating tension and promoting good-will...She doesn't always succeed, but she always means well...Trust me,I know...

I am not interested in Turks like Ecevit (he is your hero not mine, or of any other CYPRIOT!). But I certainly would not delight in death-wishes.

You cannot justify what has been said about a dying man by asserting to some pasts posts on a Turk who killed thousands of Cypriots and destroyed our island ... Besides, they remain gossip as neither you nor Zan can find anything equivalent to what has gone on here!

You also do not have to excuse Karma to me ... I have no complaint with Karma or her quirky humour. It was Zan that moaned about her wish to see an end to Denktash.

Zan, apparently you read what you want to read because you can't deal with what I am actually writting.

Of course I acknowledge that in Cyprus we had dead before Turkey invaded in 1974. We had many 1000s of dead, the vast majority of whom were again Greek Cypriots. Also those people were killed in conflicts which the Turks started.

So where did I not acknoledge that you also had some casulaties?

It is you who does not acknowledge that facts that:

1) The ones who started the conflicts and wars in which both sides had casultiues were always the Turks (1571, 1821, 1958, 1974)

2) That from your attacks and wars you started against us far more Greek Cypriots have died.

About 2000 GCs were killed by the coupist Greeks and still he tries to blame the Turks........He has become, or was he always, about as useful as a limp sausage to a man with no hands......

Who ever blamed the Turks for the coup? The coupists who made those crimes were jailed. Do you know how many coups happened in Turkey Zan?

The Turks have done way worst things that the coupists, and for way longer periods (until today) and still you are trying to present them as the innocent ones and the victims!!!

Are you comparing Ecevit with Papadopoulos???

Ecevit ordered the invasion that killed 1000s of Cypriots and ethnically cleansed 100s of thousands. Do you, or anybody disputes this fact? What did Papadopoulos did to you? He didn't agree that an 18% minority along with foreigners should have the right to undemocratically impose their will on Cyprus? That was his "crime"?

I wonder, if you had the power would you convict Papadopoulos for his "crime" like you did with Archbishop Kyprianos?

During the Greek War of Independence in 1821, the Ottoman authorities feared that Greek Cypriots would rebel again. Archbishop Kyprianos, a powerful leader who worked to improve the education of Greek Cypriot children, was accused of plotting against the government. Kyprianos, his bishops, and hundreds of priests and important laymen were arrested and summarily hanged or decapitated on July 9, 1821.

Yet another Turkish Cypriot on laxatives churning out “statistics”…

Hey Iceman, I reiterate…

“Most TCs are too stupid to point to Cyprus on a map let alone figure out everything else. We see their daft posts including yours, on a daily basis on the various forums. What troubles me the most is that we’ve had a good free tour of the minds of the overseas TCs who are actually meant to be the “educated” ones… God help us deal with the ones actually living in Cyprus.”

Piratis. There are a few on this forum who will accuse members of their own community as traitors and treachery. You are aware of this arent you. You are also aware of what Kyprianos was doing?

Kyprianos was an Ottoman subject. Did he behave like one?

He collected monies , munitions and sent young men to fight for 'Greek Independence' from their Ottomans masters.

He further incited the Greek speaking Cypriots to rebel against the then legal authority which was the Porte in Konstantiniyye.

Don't you think these are treasonable offences which are punishable by death, as was the custom in most European countries. Ofcourse, these punishments are barbaric by todays standards, but these Cypriots were not as innocent as you try to portray them. In fact you never have mentioned why they were executed. I would , so other forumers would appreciate your statements to be more clear than what you present.

Also, the wars 1570/71 were not against the Cypriots, it was against your old masters the Venetians.

Bringing all these up constantly is repetitive and boring. Move along a bit.

In the future dont stop at half truths. Give the whole picture and we will get on like a house on fire.

Regards

Ahah, the man with all the figures and stats has arrived!

As you can see, Zan has made a sweeping unsubstantiated statement that the Greek Coup was responsible for killing 2,000 GCs, presumably to downplay the death toll from the Turkish Invasion.

I know you have posted proof on this matter in the past, so I kindly request that you put Zan out of his misery by posting some real facts about the Greek Coup death toll. I think the figure is around 100.
