AUDITOR GENERAL PAINTS A BLACK PICTURE

Postby Bananiot » Fri Dec 05, 2008 9:56 am

In her Annual Report submitted to the President, Chrystalla Giorgatzi, the Auditor General paints a black picture regarding the administration of the finances of the RoC. In the phot below she submits her report which covers some 800 pages.

Some newspapers this morning have referred to the RoC as a third worls country ...

Bananiot, when you have finished rejoicing (remember Friday's laughter is Saturday's tears!) and wiped the tears of joy from your streaming eyes, telling us that some "journalists" are selling papers with headlines that Cyprus is a third world country does not necessarily make it so.

So do you have any information as to how "black" this economy is; or is it just hopeful wishing on your part that it is just "black" enough to skew the economy and its administration into that of say the UK ... which is about the blackest in the World at the moment!

3rd World countries do not have Auditor Generals providing 800 page reports on which elements of the government need immediate attention directly by the President.

If your fallacies over so many issues demonstrated on this forum almost on a daily basis including the above, are anything to go by then its high time you changed your sources of information…

Newspapers are the same all over the world. Sensationalism raises circulation, so I would not be too eager to rejoice. Mis-management and corruption is everywhere, and is not unique to Cyprus. No nation is immune, because human greed and personal agendas always prevail.

Even an Australian Prime Minister called Australia a banana republic, but this does not make it so. It also resulted in him losing the next election.
