We've elected to power a political party the is the most removed from any connections with Greece. Up to recently they did not even attend memorials of the EOKA 55-59 campaign (they are forced to now) AKEL feel as much allegiance to the Greek flag as they do to the Swedish one. The current minister of defense has recently labelled the joint defense doctrine with Greece that was signed by Clerides as a flash in the pan that never really worked.
